The Virgin V alley High School girl flag football team began a stretch of four games in three days Thursday with a win over archrival Moapa Valley High School Pirates 31-6. Bulldog coaches commented it was an ugly win as the Bulldog offense could not get untracked. The Bulldog defensive unit led by Kaydee Bingham saved the day for the Dawgs. Bingham returned two interceptions for touchdowns although one was called back on a penalty. Brooke White also added an interception to the Dawgs defensive stats. Bulldog freshman Kallie Graves came off the bench hitting Dylan Bryant for a touchdown and Marlene Quiarte for the extra point. Graves also led all rushers with 70 yards on the ground.
Bulldog football gals defeat Pioneers 32-12 in BIT opener
The Bulldog girl flag football team found their offense at the right time Friday afternoon in the first game of the Bulldog Invitational Tournament defeating Canyon Springs High School 32-12. It was all Dawgs in the first half led by quarterback Kallie Graves. Graves hit three straight completions, two to Dylan Bryant for 17 and 20 yards and one for 19 yards to Taylor Bryant setting up a first and goal on the Pioneers one yard line. Graves ran it in from there giving the Dawgs a 6-0 lead. The Bulldogs took advantage of a Pioneers decision to go for it on their own 36 yard line. The Bulldog defense held giving the Dawgs a first down. The Dawgs scored quickly with halfback Dylan Bryant taking the snap, pitching out to Q.B. Graves who hit a streaking Taylor Bryant for a touchdown. The extra point pass failed upping the Dawgs lead to 12-0. The Dawgs added another T.D. before the break on a Graves pass to fellow freshman Madison Cheney. Graves hit senior Genesis DeLeon over the middle for the extra point giving the Dawgs a 19-0 lead at the half.
The Pioneers scored on the first possession of the second half to cut the Dawgs lead to 19-6. Graves and Taylor Bryant would team up twice for scores on long passes to make the final score 32-6. Graves was the offensive standout and the defense was led by Taylor Bryant and Cheney with interceptions. “We played well after such an ugly game last night against Moapa,” said Bulldog coach Joey Bowler. “Our execution was good and our defense played well. Kallie (Graves), through the ball well.”
Bulldogs wear down in second half lose to Falcons 35-6

The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog flag football team tasted defeat for the first time this season losing to the Falcons from Foothill High School 35-6 in the semi-finals of the B.I.T. Saturday morning. The Falcons marched down the field on the opening possession to take a 7-0 lead after three minutes of play. The Bulldogs returned the favor behind the passing of Kallie Graves. Graves hit Kaydee Bingham for 26 yards and Brooke White for 20 yards setting up a first and goal from the one yard line. Graves ran it in on a keeper but the extra point pass failed keeping the score 7-6. The Falcons added one more score before the first half ended, making the score 14-6.
The Falcons would add three more touchdowns in the second half to win easily. The Bulldogs had no answer for the Falcons passing attack. The Falcons hit a tight end trailer for most of their yardage. Bingham was the bright spot for the Dawgs defense with an interception. The Dawgs faced Las Vegas High School for third place in an afternoon game.
Bulldogs drop squeaker to Las Vegas 12-6
The Virgin Valley Lady Bulldog flag football team lost to Las Vegas High School 12-6 Saturday afternoon in their B.I.T. tournament. The Bulldogs managed a fourth place finish in their second annual tournament. Kallie Graves again led the Dawgs with 122 yards passing and a T.D. to Dylan Bryant. Marlene Quiarte led the rushers with 42 yards and the defensive standouts were Hannah Haviland and Kari Wakefield. The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-2 for the young season.
The Dawgs next home game will be on Monday December 15 against returning champion Cimarron-Memorial and last year’s flag football Most Valuable Player Jaymee Luke.
