The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog basketball team will travel to Faith Lutheran on December 2 to face the Crusaders in the opening game of the season. The Crusaders are defending 1-A Sunset Conference champions going 9-1 last season. The Crusaders lost to Desert Pines 56-54 in last year’s Southern Division tournament. The Crusaders handed the Bulldogs an early season loss 51-43. The Bulldogs will need to stop Crusader seniors Haley Vinson, Morgan Hill and Kim Munro. The 5’11” Vinson tore up the Dawgs with 18 points in that game. The 5’10” Hill ended the 2014 season with a 10.2 point per game scoring average. Point guard Munro is an adept ball handler and court general.

On the Bulldog side, Becca Bramlage needs to duplicate her 18 points in last season’s match plus a more experienced Bernice Fiso and center Kourtney Metzger must control the boards. The difference in the game could be the Dawgs ability to get the ball to the tall Bulldog front line. Metzger and Fiso had zero points in last year’s game. Guards Spencer Green and Emma Barnum must limit their turnovers. Newcomer Kamri Ludvigson should help the young Dawgs at point guard. The Bulldogs are young but a year’s experience could make this season a memorable one.
