The Virgin Valley High School Bulldog football team held their annual post season banquet Thursday night honoring 2014 players. The always upbeat head Coach Yori Ludvigson began the evening introducing freshman coach Nick Montoya, whose squad went 9-0 for the season. Montoya presented certificates to his young players and thanked them for a job well done. Ludvigson turned the microphone over to J.V. coach John Noel whose team also had an undefeated season. Noel presented certificates to his players.

Coach Ludvigson presented letters and football pins to varsity players who lettered for the season. He then announced the names of Bulldog players who made the 1-A Sunrise All-Conference teams. Named honorable mention, were Josh Bishop, Jairo Vallejo and Marlan Felshaw. Named All-Sunrise second team, were Cody Jones and Mikian Musser. Before honoring those players named to the first team All-Sunrise, Ludvigson brought up the seniors who played their last game thanking them for their commitment to Bulldog football. Receiving awards were seniors Keegan Biasi, Edgar Cruz, Brayden Lee, Branden Haun and Junior Paongo.

The final honors of the evening went to junior Arden Bundy and seniors Branden Haun and Junior Paongo who were named to the 1-A Sunrise Conference first team.

The Bulldogs went 4-5 this season but the future of Bulldog football looks bright as they return most of the players from this year’ s squad plus a talented undefeated young J.V. and freshman squads who move up next year. No doubt Ludvigson and his assistants can’t wait for fall practice to begin.
