Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 28 – Oct. 4, 2014.

Sept. 28:

Welfare Check: Officer responded to a Valley View Circle residence to conduct welfare check on an infant. Officer did not find anyone at the residence.

Theft: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd grocery store for a report of shoplifting of items from the store. Information and evidence was collected and an investigation started.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business reference a vandalism call.  A report was taken for glue placed in the locking mechanism of a front door lock.

Citizen Assist: Officer observed a vehicle stalled in the roadway on N Grapevine Rd and assisted the driver with obtaining fuel and moving the vehicle.

Found Property: Officers responded to a Palm Cove Ct residence reference two found bicycles. The bicycles were retrieved and booked into the evidence vault as found property.

Found Property: Officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd convenience store for a report of found property. The owner was identified and the property was returned.

Transient Assistance: Officer responded to the police station and spoke with a male, requesting transient assistance. Male was given information concerning assistance help.

Juvenile Problem: An officer responded to a Hacienda Way residence for a juvenile problem.

Graffiti: While on patrol, an officer located graffiti on a Thistle St wall. A report was taken.

Sept. 29:

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino, in reference to a traffic accident which occurred out of state.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer responded to a private property parking lot accident on N Sandhill Blvd.  The officer completed an exchange of information and an accident report for insurance purposes.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department in reference to a citizen assist.

Trespassing: Officer Responded to an E Pioneer Blvd Casino for a report of a trespass violator refusing to leave property. The male subject was issued a citation and released with a Court date.

Driving Under the Influence: Officer observed an intoxicated male on E Pioneer Blvd, he had just been speaking with enter a vehicle and drive away. A vehicle stop was conducted and the male driver was arrested.

Sept. 30:

Burglary: An officer responded to a W Hafen Ln golf course reference a report of a stolen golf cart. A burglary report was completed, and the investigation continues.

Hit & Run: Officer took a hit & run accident report, for a vehicle located in a parking lot on North Grapevine Road. Vehicle owner was provided with report information, for insurance reasons.

Sex Offense: An Officer responded to the police department lobby for a report of a sexual assault and robbery.

Citizen Assist: Officers assisted a citizen with questions regarding possible fraud.

Theft: An Officer responded to W Old Mill Rd for a report of a theft from a business.

Burglary: Officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a Partridge Ln residence with a broken window. The residence was found to have been burglarized. A crime report was taken and the Mesquite Investigative Services Division is investigating the burglary.

Resisting/Interfering /Officer: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence reference a civil matter. The adult male complainant was arrested for breach of peace, obstructing an officer, and resisting arrest.

Oct. 1:

Threatening: R/p requested the information and the alleged event be a matter of record, reference the verbal threat her spouse made. The R/p was provided a business card with the event number.

Fraud: Officer is investigating a female on E First South St involved with offering a false instrument.

Juvenile Problem: Officers responded to a reported juvenile problem on Palos Verdes Dr.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident with no injuries on Hughes Ave. The vehicle was impounded for no insurance, and the driver was cited for several traffic violations.

Oct. 2:

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a disorderly call at a E First North St residence. Officers placed an intoxicated person in civil protective custody.

Theft: A foreclosure company reported items missing from a foreclosed home on Hardy Way when they arrived to secure the residence. A report was taken by the officer.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer took a report of a single vehicle accident on private property on W Pioneer Blvd with negative injuries.

Theft: Report was taken reference theft of property, at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. The investigation continues.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a female on W Pioneer Blvd with an active warrant out of Mesquite Justice Court. The female was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.

Burglary: Shade Tree Ln victim reports residential burglary, forced entry, items stolen.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to the corner of Cottonwood Dr & E Old Mill Rd for a found bicycle. The bicycle was booked into the police lost and found.

Oct. 3:

Traffic Stop: A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle for unsecured load at W Pioneer Blvd & Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The driver was contacted, during the investigation the driver failed to produce any form of identification. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the jail and booked, for no driver’s license and unsecured load.

Lost Property: A female lost her debit card and Nevada identification card and requested a lost property report be made.

Citizen Assist: Citizen turned ammunition into the police department.

Oct. 4:

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr residence reference a domestic disturbance between a male and female. The male was arrested for second offense domestic battery.

Phone Harassment: Officer took a telephone report of harassment on Facebook. Both involved parties have been spoken with concerning comments made from both parties.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a Turtleback Rd residence in reference to a found property call.

Business or License Problem: An officer made contact with an individual selling items at a Virgin River Casino event.

Domestic Trouble: An officer was dispatched to a Pinnacle Ct residence, in reference to an alarm.  After an investigation, it was discovered a domestic battery had occurred.  An investigation was started.

Stolen Property: Officer took a theft report of a cell phone taken from a parked vehicle. Report was taken for a matter of record and insurance purposes.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd store parking lot, in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to a Lamp Post Way residence to obtain information for Elko County Sheriffs office, reference a found vehicle.

Agency Assistance: Officer responded to I-15 NB for a reported accident. Vehicle was located and found to have a flat tire. Driver was assisted with changing the tire.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Moonlight Terrace Rn residential street, in reference to a minor traffic accident without injuries.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd business, reference a harassing letter received in the mail. A report was taken as a matter of record.

Keep The Peace: Officers responded to W Mesquite Blvd on a civil custody issue.

Trespassing: A previously trespassed suspect returned onto an E Pioneer Blvd casino property. Suspect received a citation and security escorted the suspect off of property.
