Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Sept. 21 – Sept. 27, 2014.
Theft: Officer responded to an E Pioneer Blvd business on a theft and a report was taken.
Agency Assistance: Officer responded to assist highway patrol on a traffic stop after being requested for back up on Arizona’s I15 NB.
Intoxicated Person: Officer responded to a restaurant on E Pioneer Blvd, for an intoxicated male refusing to leave the property when asked. Male was located and escorted off property.
Parking Problem: Officer responded to Eagle St for a vehicle parked illegally on the sidewalk. Owner was located and the vehicle was moved. A warning was given.
Missing Person: Officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd casino after an adult male was reported missing. The male was located and reunited with his group shortly after arrival.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a suspicious call on Shade Tree Ln, where it was reported people were entering and exiting a residence, through a bedroom window. An adult at the residence was spoken with and he advised he was aware of the situation.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to the freeway, I15 SB, on a report of a suspicious female. Female was contacted and found to be safe and did not need any assistance.
Citizen Assist: Officer responded on a citizen assist at a W Mesquite Blvd church and answered questions about messages posted on Facebook.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a suspicious situation on Riverside Rd where a 7 year old was kicking and screaming as she was being placed in a vehicle. Child was throwing a fit because she was not allowed to sit by a window.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Police responded to a non-injury UTV accident on a Turtleback Rd sidewalk. A report was taken for the incident.
Threatening: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence for a threatening incident. Information of threats made from several individuals was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence reference a property damage report. A vehicle sustained minor damage from a young child. The incident was determined to be non-criminal.
VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a VIN inspection at a Winder Stock Trail residence.
Found Property: A Key ring, with Honda Keys were found on Mesa Boulevard and turned in to the Police Department. Keys placed in vault for safe keeping.
Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a Garnet Ln residence, reference a civil matter. Questions were answered concerning property issues.
Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd hotel, in reference to a phone harassment call.
Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer contacted a suspicious vehicle and driver parked in a vacant business
lot on Willis Carrier Canyon.
Lost Property: An officer was dispatched to a Highland Hills Dr residence in reference to a lost property report.
Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a N Grapevine Rd residence in reference to a citizen assist.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a traffic accident at the intersection of Mesquite Boulevard and Riverside Road. The accident was minor with no reported injuries. An accident report was completed for insurance purposes.
Suspicious/Person: An officer responded to a Mesa Blvd neighborhood in reference to a suspicious person.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer responded to a N Sandhill Blvd parking lot in reference to a child left in a vehicle. The vehicle was running and the air conditioning was on.
Theft: Officer responded to a report of stolen property from a citizen’s vehicle on Kelkim St. Citizen allegedly left tools in the back of a pick up truck and they were taken by unknown subjects.
Impounded Vehicle: During traffic stop on Valley View Dr & Cedar Ct driver was found to be unlicensed with no insurance and expired vehicle registration. Driver received citations and vehicle impounded.
Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Mesa Blvd residence in reference to a petit larceny.
Juvenile Problem: Officers responded to an E First North St residence for a report of a juvenile problem.
Officers spoke with mother and son, who were arguing over the son’s behavior and problems he is having at school. Parties were separated for a cooling off period.
Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen’s assist.
Fraud: Officer responded to a Chaparral Dr residence on a report of fraud. Investigation is ongoing.
Citizen Assist: Officer responded to Thompson Dr residence and answered questions concerning the eviction process.
Alarm: An officer responded to a local residence in reference to an alarm.
Civil Matter: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd residence and answered questions concerning a civil situation, involving mother, father and 15 year old son.
Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a Cascade Ave residence for a citizen assist. A report was taken.
Minor Gambling: An officer was dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd local casino for a report of minor gambling. The male subject was issued citation for minor gambling.
Theft: Officer responded to a Paintbrush Way residence on a report of stolen property. A written statement was obtained from the victim and a report was taken.
Burglary: Officer responded to a Gean St residence on a reported burglary. Officer obtained statements from victim, requested detectives respond.
Domestic Trouble: An officer was dispatched to a Adobe Dr residence, for a report of an alleged domestic battery that occurred the night before. Due to lack of physical evidence a report was completed and forwarded to the city attorney for review.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Hafen Ln who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on Riverside Rd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested an adult female on N Grapevine Rd for a warrant out of the Mesquite Municipal Court.
Wanted Person: Officers arrested a male on N Grapevine Rd who had a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
Stab/Gunshot/Penetration: Officers responded to a La Paz Ct residence reference a gunshot wound. An adult female was transported to the hospital.
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd hotel room in reference to a domestic in progress. Officers arrived on scene and arrested one adult male for domestic battery.
Wanted Person: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd casino reference a trespass violator. The subject also had two warrants for his arrest. He was taken into custody for trespassing and the warrants.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to a E Pioneer Blvd hotel on a report of an adult female seeking assistance and under the influence of a controlled substance. Officer spoke to witnesses and a report was taken.
Citizen Assist: Officers responded to Chaparral Dr to investigate a suspicious letter.
Graffiti: Officer responded to the Thistle St & Second South St neighborhood on a report of vandalism. Officer arrived and obtained photos and a report was taken. Investigation is ongoing.
Battery on Person: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd gas station on a reported battery. Officer obtained a written statement from the victim and a report was taken.
Minor Possessing/Consuming: Officers cited a juvenile for possession of alcohol at a high school football game.
Wanted Person: Officers made contact with an adult female with a warrant on Clover Ln. She was arrested and transported to Mesquite Detention Center.
Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd residence in reference to a domestic disturbance between a man and woman. After the investigation was completed. The male suspect was arrested for domestic battery.
Sexual Assault: Officers responded to a report of a sexual assault at an E Pioneer Blvd casino. Information was forwarded to Investigation Services.
