Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 24 – Aug. 30, 2014.

 

August 24:

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An officer was dispatched to a W Pioneer Blvd store in reference to a suspicious person.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Bertha Howe Ave park to check on possible flooding. A leak was located while sprinklers were running, but shut off after cycle completed. Parks division will be notified.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a traffic accident on private property on E Pioneer Blvd with no reported injuries. A driver’s exchange form was completed and copies given to each party.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to an Emily Way residence in reference to a verbal family fight.

Intoxicated Person: An officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino, in reference to an intoxicated person.  An adult male subject was later taken into custody for obstructing and resisting a public officer.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a citizen assist.

Burglary: Officer responded to a Topaz Ln residence for a report of force entry burglary. Officers found the door to residence broken and items missing from the home. Detectives responded and processed the scene and a crime report was taken.

Minor Gambling: Officer was dispatched to a W Mesquite Blvd casino for a minor gambling. Minor was identified and was under 21 years of age. Minor was cited and released.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to a Tuscany Circle residence for a report of a suspicious situation. A report was taken.

August 25:

Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop for a cell phone violation at W Mesquite Blvd & N Grapevine Rd and found the driver of the vehicle to have two warrants. The driver was placed into custody for the warrant and transported to the Mesquite Detention Facility.

Weapon Offense: Officer responded to a weapon offense at a Nolina Ridge residence and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a Mountain Ridge residence in reference to a citizen assist.

Suspicious/Person: Officer responded to a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store for a suspicious circumstance call. A male customer had asked about buying a paper gun. Male was located and confirmed he was asking about a glue gun.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded and completed a VIN inspection on Hardy Way.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to a Pulsipher Ln residence in reference to a citizen assist.

VIN Number Inspection: Officer responded to a Bannock St residence and completed a VIN inspection on an ATV.

August 26:

Traffic Stop: Officer stopped a vehicle on Quail Run for driving in a reckless manner. Driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Weapon Offense: Officers were dispatched to a Cottonwood Dr residential address in reference to a weapon offense.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officer responded to a W Pioneer Blvd business who received a package by mistake. Package was placed into evidence and attempts are being made to locate an owner.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station on a citizen assist requesting extra patrol in a neighborhood.

Agency Assistance: Officer answered questions for a citizen regarding an investigation that occurred in another state.

TPO/Restraining Order/Subpoena: Officer attempted paper service at a Mesa Blvd residence.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to the police station and answered questions regarding a civil matter.

Civil Matter: Officer responded to Canal St residence, reference questions with the eviction process. Both involved parties were explained the process to follow.

August 27:

Lost Property: Officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department on a report of missing license plate from Mesquite Springs Dr. Officer spoke to the reporting party by telephone and a report was taken.

August 28:

Trespassing: Male subject was arrested for trespassing at a W Mesquite Blvd convenience store.

Fraud: Officer met with a victim of identity theft.  Officer obtained a written statement and a report was taken.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Officers made contact with two subjects at a N Sandhill Blvd gas station. The vehicle that the subjects were traveling in was reported as stolen. Subjects were taken into custody.

Theft: Vehicle License plate was stolen from the rear of the vehicle on N Sandhill Blvd. The victim requested a report be taken. The officer provided the victim with an event number. Report taken.

August 29:

Reckless Driver: After conducting an investigation on I15 NB and releasing the suspects Officers located documentation belonging to the driver of the vehicle. The documentation was booked into safekeeping.

False Information: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on the I15 NB 120 On-Ramp and arrested an occupant of the vehicle for giving a false name to police.

Stolen Property: Officer responded to a Riverside Rd residence on a report of stolen property.  Report was taken.

Theft from Vehicle: Officer responded to the lobby of the police Department to speak with a resident regarding items stolen from a vehicle. Report taken.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to the Police Department on a report of phone harassment. Report was taken.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a male subject in the lobby of the police department who had an active warrant for his arrest. Subject was taken into custody without incident.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer was dispatched to non-injury accident at E Mesquite Blvd & N Sandhill Blvd. Both drivers exchange vehicle information.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Mesa Blvd casino reference a suspicious situation.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Sun Valley Dr apartment complex reference a domestic situation. A female was issued a citation and released for medical attention.

Petit Larceny: While investigating a domestic incident, officers learned a retail theft had occurred. The offender was cited and released for petit larceny.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a two vehicle accident with no injuries at W Hafen Ln & Sunset Greens Way. The drivers’ exchange information, a report was taken, and the driver at fault was cited and released.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop with a male juvenile at S Arrowhead Ln & W First South St, citations were issued.

Wanted Person: Officers responded to a Tortuga Way residence reference an verbal argument between an adult male and female.  The adult female had an active Las Vegas Justice Court warrant confirmed and was arrested.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a local male on Tortuga Way on a Las Vegas Justice Court bench warrant.

August 30:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to an E Pioneer Blvd casino parking lot to assist with a damage only vehicle accident.

Wanted Person: Officers were dispatched to an E Pioneer Blvd hotel, reference a fight between a male and female. Both parties received minor injuries. The male was arrested for an active warrant.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a Riverside Rd apartment complex on a noise complaint.  An adult female was arrested for breach of peace.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An Officer was patrol and observed three males looking at the front and rear of their vehicle at E Pioneer Blvd & 122 off ramp. It appeared a minor non-injury accident occurred prior to the officer’s arrival. A report was completed and citation issued.

Controlled Substance Problem: Officers responded to the hospital reference illegal drugs located with a patient.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a W Mesquite Blvd casino in reference to a fight no longer in progress. Officers arrived on scene and learned it was mutual combatants, but the casino wanted the violators trespassed and charged with breach of peace. The offenders were issued a citation and left the property after being trespassed.
