Wednesday’s GAS Club 18-hole tournament was a two-man modified Stableford format, which was perfect for any team-effort environment.

John Johnson and John Meyer added 57 award points to their combined handicaps (18.8) to win this week’s competition by just 1.8 strokes over second place team of Andrew Yeh, shooting a smooth 69 from the black tees, and his partner, Larry Mierisch. The third place team following behind by only 1.5 strokes.

Closest to the pin awards went to Andrew Yeh on hole #2, John Meyer on hole #5, Gary Slater on hole #8, John Johnson on hole #14 and his brother, Sidney Bounds, on hole #17.

Six skins were won throughout the day with one each by John Meyer, Bill Losh and Doug Lund and the other three going to Andrew Yeh.

With Wednesday’s play, a new leader has been placed atop the Eclectic Tourney board. Bill Losh’s three birdies for net eagles put him in first place at 24 under par (47). The standings are a bit away from being completed the week before Christmas, but Alex Churchich is nipping at Losh’s heels, behind him by only one stroke. Only time and course conditions will tell how this may end.
