Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 15 – 21, 2014.

June 15:

Citizen Assist: Officers responded to a local residence on Partridge Lane in reference to a citizen assist call.

Dead Body: Officer responded to a local residence on N Arrowhead Ln in reference to a deceased person. The Clark County Coroner’s office responded for the investigation.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to a local business parking lot on E Pioneer Blvd, in reference to a citizen assist.

Unknown Problem: Officers responded to a residence on Shoshone Circle in reference to a 911 hang up.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a hit and run accident at a local grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd.

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to an intoxicated male being disorderly and refusing to leave a local business on W Mesquite Blvd. The male had previously been trespassed, from that location, and was arrested for trespassing at the business’ request.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers were dispatched to a building under construction on Second South St in reference to a suspicious person.

Found Property: Officers responded to a local address on Moss Dr. to collect found property.  The property was return to its owner.

Missing Person: Officers responded to circulate for a missing elderly female. Female was located safe and denied paramedics.

June 16:

Found Property: An Officer responded to a residence on Thompson Dr reference a found bicycle.  The bicycle had not been reported missing and was placed in storage.

Vandalism: Officers were dispatched to a possible vandalism call on N Willow St.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department in reference to a citizen assist call.

Welfare Check: Officers responded to a welfare check on Riverside Rd, everyone appeared to be in good health.

Disorderly Conduct: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Topaz Ln in reference to a suspicious person.

Stolen Property: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Emmarene St in reference to a theft report.

Follow Up Investigation: Officer spoke with a male regarding a previous reported incident. Information was provided, the incident is non-criminal.

Wanted Person: An Officer conducted a traffic stop at N Sandhill Blvd & I15 NB and the driver had an active warrant.  The driver was cited and taken into custody.

Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Kelkim St in reference to a vandalism call.

Hit & Run: An officer was dispatched to a local parking lot on Riverside Rd in reference to a hit and run traffic accident, without injuries.

June 17:

Agency Assistance: Officers responded to a local residence on La Paz Ct to assist paramedics on a medical call. Paramedics transported one adult female to the hospital for observation.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officers responded to an accident without injuries on private property on W Mesquite Blvd. Information was gathered and a report taken.

Fire: A residents palm tree caught fire on Topaz Ln. The fire was put out by bystanders. The Mesquite Fire Department conducted an investigation.

June 18:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a local residence on Larkspur Ln and took a report of vandalism/Property Damage to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. Photographs and a written report was taken of the vandalism.

Hit & Run: An Officer responded to a department store on W Pioneer Blvd regarding a minor hit and run which occurred in the parking lot.  Information was gathered from the eye witness.  An initial hit and run report has been completed.

Hit & Run: An Officer responded to the parking lot of a hotel on W Pioneer Blvd regarding a minor hit and run accident. The officer gathered information from the victim and completed a report.

June 19:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation at E Mesquite Blvd & W Mesquite Blvd. The officer observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and evidence of illegal drug activity. The adult male driver and adult male passenger were issued citations for possession of marijuana and open container.

Suspicious/Person: Officer made contact with a male on E Mesquite Blvd who was in possession of illegal narcotics. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Theft: Officer responded and took a theft report of Diesel Fuel from a Semi truck on E Pioneer Blvd, parked in a truck parking lot over night. The theft is under investigation.

Citizen Assist: Officer took a report of a suspicious text message. Officers are currently attempting to locate the subject involved with sending the text message.

June 20:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd in reference to a trespass violation. Officers located the subject, verified the previous trespass warning, and cited the suspect for trespassing.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd and arrested a male subject for a trespass violation.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to a Sun City residence on Hitching Post Pt, reference a report of a Domestic situation between a male and female. It was determined a domestic battery did occur, with the male party being arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Facility.

Trespassing: A local casino on W Mesquite Blvd reported a trespass violator, and requested police assistance. The male subject was placed into custody for multiple warrants and charged with trespassing.

June 21:

Vandalism: Officers responded to a vandalism call at a casino on E Pioneer Blvd. The suspects were not located and this is in ongoing investigation.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations at W First South St & Palm Dr, and observed the driver to be impaired. The officer determined the adult male driver was impaired by alcohol, and he was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Wanted Person: A male subject requested to see the police. A male subject wanted to turn himself into the police for an active warrant for his arrest. Subject was taken into custody and escorted and booked into the jail without incident.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatched to the front lobby of the police department, reference harassment. The officer contacted the reporting party, who requested to file a report. The R/p received a business card with the event number attached.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation at W Old Mill Rd & Woodbury Ln and found the two occupants were juveniles and in possession of alcohol. The offenders were cited and released to their guardians.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at W Mesquite Blvd & N Grapevine Rd, and observed the adult male driver to be impaired. After a brief investigation, the male was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Welfare Check: Officers conducted a welfare check on a 4 year old female on W First South St.  Everything appeared to be Code 4.

Wanted Person: Officers located a male adult at a residence on Thistle St with an active warrant from Mesquite Municipal Court, the male was taken into custody.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist on Eagle St after an adult female locked herself out of her home.
