The Mesquite, Nevada Stake Center was a gathering place for young people from the Virgin and Moapa Valleys on May 17th. The two groups consisting of young men and women from the ages of 12 years to 18 years of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints met to hear from both of their stake presidents and receive instruction and inspiration. President Messer and President Jensen talked about the worth and value of the young people and encouraged them to make wise choices in their lives.

Special musical numbers were presented by some of the group and after refreshments the older group of 14 to 18 year olds was invited to stay for a dance in the Stake Center’s Cultural Hall. The Stake Youth Council provided the music which was fun and uplifting.

Sandwiches and snacks kept everybody happy and satisfied into the evening. These opportunities for the valley youth to associate with their peers from other areas are really enjoyed and help to enlarge their circle of acquaintances.
