Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 179 total incidents in the blotter:

July 2:

Mental Person:  Officers responded to mental patient on Sage Way, who was transported by paramedics to the hospital for an evaluation.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident of Sandhill Blvd and Old Mill Rd. No injuries and all participants in the accident refused any medical assistance. As a result of the investigation one of the drivers were cited for going through a red light.

July 3:

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to Calais Dr. on a report of a harassment at a local residence. Upon listening to the complaint, it was discovered the complainant had an active warrant from Nevada Highway Patrol. The warrant was confirmed. The harassment complaint turned out to be civil a civil issue between landlord and tenant.

Civil Matter: Responded to a report of Harassment. Determined to be a civil situation.

Recovered Stolen Vehicle: An officer received information from another agency of a recovered stolen vehicle from Mesquite.

Fraud: An officer responded to a casino reference a fraud. An information report was completed.

Wanted person: Responded to local casino and placed one adult male in custody on an outstanding warrant.

Miscellaneous CAD Call Record: Officers responded on a child custody issue between divorced parents. A report was taken.

Domestic Violence IP: An adult male on First South St.  was placed under arrest for domestic battery and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center and booked.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded on a vehicle accident involving a sedan versus a parked trailer and an SUV. A report was taken and a citation issued to the driver of V1.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer responded to a property damage call at Lower Flat Top Drive. Upon arrival, the reporting party stated they went to the park and noticed the benches were turned over. The benches were not damaged, but too heavy to lift to put back into place. City maintenance will be contacted.

July 4:

Abandoned vehicle: Responded to an abandoned vehicle which had a 24-hour parking sticker attached on 06/29/2017 on Dairy Lane.  B&B Towing responded and recovered the vehicle and placed in their storage lot.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident on private property, with no injury. A report was completed.

Citizen assist: An officer responded to an agency assist.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for speeding. One adult male and one adult female was arrested for drug related offenses based on the investigation.

DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and observed evidence of the driver being impaired by alcohol.  The officer initiated an investigation and the driver was arrested for DUI alcohol, possession of open container of alcohol in a vehicle, and basic speed.

Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer and Mesquite Fire and Rescue responded on a motor vehicle accident. One of the passengers was a pregnant female, who was due to deliver in two days. The female was having pains and was transported to the hospital.

July 5:

Domestic violence IP W/ Weapon: Officers responded on a domestic violence call on Tamarix Way. An adult male was arrested for domestic battery second offence. He was transported to the detention and booked.

Lost property: Officer responded to a report of lost property. Citizen advised she lost her cell phone in a local casino.

Suspicious person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Pheasant Dr.  residence reference a property damage call. A

report was taken.

Battery on person: Officer responded to a report of an assault that had previously occurred on N. Arrowhead Ln. Officer took the report and the victim signed a citation on the offender.

Property damage, non-vandalism: A report was taken for property damage of a vehicle.

Domestic violence IP: Officers were dispatched to a Mesa Blvd. business’ parking lot, in reference to a domestic in progress call. No crime occurred.

July 6:

Trespassing: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino for a report of a subject in violation of trespass warning. The subject was taken into custody for the trespass violation.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident on a public roadway. A report was taken and a citation was given to the at fault driver.

Traffic stop: Officers responded to assist Detectives on a traffic stop. After investigation, driver was taking into custody for driving under the influence.

Theft: Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. department store reference a theft call. A report was completed for the theft that occurred a month previous.

Vandalism: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. hotel parking lot for a report of damaged property. The investigation is ongoing.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. shopping center reference a theft that occurred the night before.  Officers took pertinent information and will attempt to locate the suspects.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident on a public highway without injuries. Driver 1 was issued a citation of failure to yield the right a way at an intersection.

Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. hotel, reference a stolen vehicle.  Officers were able to identify a suspect and will attempt to locate the suspect and vehicle.

Recovered stolen vehicle: Officers located an unoccupied stolen vehicle in an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino parking lot. The owner was notified.

July 7:

Found property: n officer was dispatched to Thistle St. & Eagle St., about a found bicycle.

Stolen vehicle: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference a stolen vehicle call. A report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the national database as stolen.Controlled substance problem: Officer respond to a report of found property. Officer took custody of property and booked it in for safe keeping.Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Mesquite Blvd. trespass incident. After investigation one male was taken into custody for trafficking heroin, resisting arrest, and trespassing.Theft: Officers responded to a Canyon View Way residence due to the report of a vehicle theft.Theft: An officer was dispatched to a Sun Valley Dr. residence, in reference to a theft call. The property had already been located, by the police, earlier in the morning and it was returned to the owner.July 8:Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. The driver was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and traffic offenses. The passenger was arrested for a bench warrant.Controlled substance problem: Officer made a traffic stop for an equipment violation. One adult female was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and driving on a suspended driver’s license.Traffic accident W/O injury: An officer responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.Domestic violence: Officers responded to Thistle St. residence on verbal disturbance. Parties separated for the remainder of the day.Minor gambling: Police located a 19-year-old female gambling in a Mesa Blvd. casino. The female was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two-vehicle accident on Sandhill Blvd. Minor damage and no injuries. Both drivers exchanged insurance information.Theft: An officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business reference a shoplifting incident. A report was completed.

Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to a disturbing the peace on Mesa Blvd. call involving an intoxicated male, at the casino, who refused to leave and threatened security with having a physical altercation. The male was taken into custody and transported to the detention center.

Traffic accident W/O injury: A private property accident occurred with no injuries. Both drivers exchanged proper documents.
