On Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 5 p.m. the Virgin Valley Water District and the Mesquite City Council will hold a joint public meeting at council chambers inside City Hall, 10 E. Mesquite Blvd.

Preliminary agenda items include a presentation from the VVWD on several matters including an overview and history of the water district, status of water in the region and a five-year project overview.

VVWD Manager Kevin Brown said their presentation should take about 40 minutes to complete.

Staff from the City of Mesquite will then present their items that are expected to be along the same lines including an overview of the city, future growth plans and a possible discussion on the city’s infrastructure.

The items mentioned are not yet finalized and are subject to change, as the official agenda will be posted by 9 a.m. on Jan. 28.

The public is invited to attend the presentations, and there will be the standard public comment periods before and after the presentations, as is customary with regular meeting structures.
