Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 22 – 28, 2014.

 

June 22:

Driving Under the Influence: Officer made a traffic stop on N Sandhill Blvd on a vehicle for disregarding a stop sign. One adult male was arrested for DUI, open container alcohol, and disregard stop sign.

Threatening: Officer responded to a report of a threatening at a local business on W Mesquite Blvd, one adult male was trespassed from the business.

Theft: An officer responded to the reported theft of two folding chairs on Kitty Hawk Dr.

Citizen Assist: Officer made contact with a resident on Roadrunner Trail with questions regarding exchanging insurance information on a minor accident on private property.

Theft From Vehicle: Officer received a report of theft from a motor vehicle on E Pioneer Blvd. Complainant was out of state and will fill out a written statement with local police to send to us.

Fighting: Officers responded to a report of a fight on West St.  Upon arrival both parties had fled the scene.  After an investigation, both parties were located and did not pursue any charges.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officer responded to a report of criminal mischief on Riverside Rd. Contact was made with the suspect and victims, and the victim declined to press charges. Suspect was asked to leave. Nothing further.

Keep The Peace: Officers were investigating a keep the peace call on Riverside Rd, during which the suspect was arrested for obstructing.

Found Property: While assisting on a separate call on Riverside Rd, officer located two white pills.  Pills were collected and placed into evidence.

June 23:

Domestic Trouble: Police responded to a verbal dispute at a local residence on Mesa Blvd. A report was taken for the incident and all parties involved were separated for the evening.

Minor Gambling: Police responded to a minor gambling at a local casino on E Pioneer Blvd. One 20 year old female was issued a citation for minor gambling and released with a court date.

June 24:

Identity Theft: An officer took a report of identity theft at the police department.

Unknown Problem: Officers responded to a 911 hang up call from a phone at a club house pool on Palmer Ln.

Driving Under the Influence: An officer was dispatched to I-15 in reference to a vehicle driving erratically.  The described vehicle was not located.

Wanted Person: Officers were dispatched to a local address on Hillside Dr in reference to attempt to locate a wanted person.  This person was located and taken into custody after the warrants were confirmed.

Missing Person: Officers were dispatched to a local residence on Francy Ln in reference to a missing juvenile.  The juvenile was located.

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer received a report of suspicious activity at a local residence. A written statement was gathered and the investigation is ongoing.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Police Department front lobby, in reference to a citizen assist.

June 25:

Theft: Officer responded to a construction yard at Ben Franklin Way & W Pioneer Blvd and took a report of the theft of items and the damage to equipment. Crime is under investigation by Mesquite Police Investigative services.

Intoxicated Person: An officer observed an intoxicated male in possession of alcohol in a city park. The male, who had been previously warned for this violation, was arrested.

June 26:

Lost Property: Officer took a report of a lost cell phone while shopping at a Mesquite business on Mesa Blvd.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to a local residence on Turtleback Rd, reference a fraud report. The investigation has been forwarded to the Investigation Service Division.

Theft: Officer responded to a local residence on Pulsipher Ln for a report of the theft of medications from the residence, which was not locked. A report was taken and investigation started.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a report of a two vehicle, no injury accident on San Pablo Ct. The drivers and vehicles were identified and an accident report was completed.

Background Investigation: Business background check for business liquor license.

June 27:

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer located a suspicious vehicle in a park on W Hafen Ln. The officer made a consensual encounter and located marijuana, paraphernalia, and alcohol in the vehicle.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An officer responded to a gas station parking lot on E Pioneer Blvd reference a vehicle collision. The officer located both vehicles involved, assisted the drivers exchange insurance information, and an officers report was completed.

Phone Harassment: An officer was dispatch to a local convenient store on N Sandhill Blvd, reference harassment. The officer learned each side of the event from both parties and completed the report for a matter of record.

Traffic Accident, w/ Injuries: Officer responded to a two vehicle accident with reported injuries at N Sandhill Blvd & E Old Mill Rd. Driver of one of the involved vehicles was transported to the hospital. At fault driver was issued 5 citations. Vehicle information was exchanged and an accident report completed.

Theft: A resident on Julian Way had a piece of his A/C unit taken and requested it be documented.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to a local convenience store on Falcon Ridge Pkwy for private property accident. There were no reported injuries and very minor damage to one vehicle. Drivers exchange form was completed and both drivers received their copy of the form.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with an adult male with two (2) active warrants out of Mesquite Municipal Court on Falcon Ridge Pkwy. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Several local businesses on W Pioneer Blvd and their employees were checked for compliance regarding Nevada Revised Statue 369.630, stating any employee of any employer that serves or sells alcohol must have completed an approved state alcohol beverage awareness program. Two of the business’s that were checked were not in compliance, and were issued a notice of civil infraction for failure to comply with alcohol awareness training requirements.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on I-15 SB. The officer located narcotics on an occupant of the vehicle. The suspect was arrested and charged with multiple drug related crimes.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Mesquite Police Officers conducted an alcohol compliance check at a local business on Riverside Rd and were found in violation of Mesquite City Ordnance 2-4-36 furnishing liquor to a minor. Also a Notice of Civil infraction was served through the Nevada Department of Taxation for failure to comply with alcohol awareness training requirements.

June 28:

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a local business parking lot on W Mesquite Blvd, in reference to a property damage call.

Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on I-15 NB and issued a traffic citation.

Alarm: Officers were dispatched to an alarm at a local business on W Pioneer Blvd.  The alarm was cancelled prior to arrival.

Phone Harassment: An officer responded to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd in reference to a telephone harassment call.

VIN Number Inspection: An officer was stopped by a motorist on Jody Ct for a VIN inspection on his travel trailer located at his local address.

Welfare Check: An officer responded to a local residence on Mesa Blvd for a report of threats made to the reporting person.

Alarm: An officer responded to a local business on Falcon Ridge Pkwy for an alarm.

Hit & Run: An officer responded to a local address on E Pioneer Blvd for hit and run traffic accident, with minor damage to the victim’s vehicle and no injuries.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a vacant lot next to a closed business on W Mesquite Blvd, in reference to a found bicycle.

Suspicious/Vehicle: An officer was dispatched to a local parking lot on W Mesquite Blvd in reference to a suspicious vehicle.

Citizen Assist: Officer responded to a citizen assist at the local police station. Answered citizens questions, no crime reported. Nothing further.

Phone Harassment: An officer responded to a local business on W Pioneer Blvd to assist with harassing calls.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Mesquite Police Officers conducted an alcohol compliance check on two local businesses on W Mesquite Blvd and were found in violation of Mesquite City Ordnance 2-4-36 furnishing liquor to a minor. A Notice of Civil infraction was served through the Nevada Department of Taxation for failure to comply with alcohol awareness training requirements.

Minor Possessing/Consuming: Mesquite Police Officers conducted an alcohol compliance check at a local business on W Pioneer Blvd and were found in violation of Mesquite City Ordnance 2-4-36 furnishing liquor to a minor, and allowing a minor to enter where alcohol sold. A Notice of Civil infraction was served through the Nevada Department of Taxation for failure to comply with alcohol awareness training requirements.
