MLN-Burglarymay22-14On Friday May 16 the Mesquite Police Department began receiving calls about vehicles that had been burglarized overnight; the calls continued coming in through Saturday. The majority of the reported incidents were south of Mesquite Boulevard and East of Grapevine Road.

Chief Tanner requested a saturation patrol and assigned Detectives to the area. Early Sunday morning Detectives were able to identify 19-year-old Ryan M. Prescott of Mesquite as a suspect in the car-hopping spree.

Prescott was arrested Sunday morning, on an unrelated misdemeanor warrant, in addition to the warrant and charged with Obstructing a Public Officer.

Prescott will be transported to the Clark County Detention Center where he faces charges of:

  • Burglary, motor vehicle (10 counts)
  • Possession of Stolen Property (16 counts)
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia (6 counts)
  • Possession Credit Card without Owners Consent (3 counts)

Additional charges are pending.
