Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 11 – 17, 2014.

May 11:

Indecent Exposure: Officer responded to a local business on E Pioneer Blvd on a report of a male urinating in public. Upon arrival, the business declined to press charges, and trespassed the male. Nothing further.

Reckless Driver: Officer responded to a report of a wrong way driver on the freeway heading southbound on I15 NB. Area and all exits were checked and the vehicle was not located. Nothing further.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a traffic accident on private property on E Pioneer Blvd with no injuries reported. A driver’s exchange form was completed and copies provided to each driver. Nothing further.

Panhandling: Officers responded to a convenient store gas station on N Sandhill Blvd concerning a male patron. The Officers located the male, who was then trespassed from the property.

Indecent Exposure: Officers responded to a report of a male urinating in a public park on Second South St. Male was arrested for indecent exposure.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a residence on Sawgrass Way concerning property damage. The homeowner was advised it was a civil matter.

May 12:

Citizen Assist: Officers assisted with a child locked in a vehicle on N Yucca St.

Found Property: An Officer was flagged down by a citizen who turned in found car keys at E First North St & N Sandhill Blvd.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department lobby in reference to a citizen assist.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded to W Mesquite Blvd for a traffic accident on private property with no injuries. A driver’s exchange form was completed and copies provided to each driver.

Hit & Run: An Officer responded to assist a citizen on Clouds Rest Pt with an hit and run accident.  A report was filed for insurance purposes.

Fraud: An officer was dispatched to the Mesquite Justice Facility on Hillside Dr in reference to a fraud report.

Fireworks: Officer responded to a local park on E Old Mill Rd reference a suspect lighting fireworks. Suspect became disorderly and threatening to officer on arrival. Suspect was arrested on several charges.

Domestic Trouble: Officers responded to the police department lobby reference a domestic dispute. A report was taken for the incident.

Phone Harassment: Officer responded to a local residence on Kitty Hawk Dr regarding harassment.  Officer spoke with both parties and a report was taken.

May 13:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident on W Pioneer Blvd involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on private property.  A state accident form was completed.

Kidnapping: Officers responded to a report of a sex offense on Mesa Blvd, an investigation was started.

Fraud: An Officer took a report of a fraud which had occurred at a local department store.  The victim lives out of state, and an initial courtesy report was completed by the agency in the victim’s jurisdiction.

Theft: An Officer responded to a report of a theft on W Pioneer Blvd.  Upon arrival the business only had questions regarding employee thefts.  All questions answered.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted an adult male on Partridge Ln with an arrest warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The warrant was confirmed, and the male was taken into custody and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Traffic Stop: Police conducted a traffic stop on a male adult driver for a moving violation on N Sandhill Blvd. Upon investigation narcotic paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. The male driver was issued citations for a traffic infringement and possession of narcotic paraphernalia. The driver was released with a court date.

May 14:

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: Officer was flagged down by a citizen on W Hafen Ln who reported hitting a pole it a parking lot. Incident number was given for insurance purposes.

Found Property: Officer responded to an apartment complex on Colleen Ct for a report of three bicycles that had been left on the property for the past two months. Bicycles were placed into Police property for safe keeping.

May 15:

Suspicious/Person: Officers responded to a Casino parking lot on W Mesquite Blvd, reference a report of a person breaking into and attempting to steal a vehicle. Information and evidence was collected and an investigation has been started by the Mesquite Investigative Division.

Wanted Person: Officer made contact with a male on E Pioneer Blvd with a felony warrant out of Las Vegas, Nevada. The warrant was confirmed along with transportation. The male was arrested without incident and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

Traffic Stop: Mesquite Detectives conducted a traffic stop at Woodbury Ln & Burns Ln on a vehicle related to a narcotics investigation. The adult male driver was arrested for multiple felony narcotic related charges.

Found Property: Officer responded to a report of an abandoned bicycle on W Hafen Ln. Bicycle had not been reported stolen. Bicycle was booked and secured in police property room.

Theft: An officer took a theft complaint at a residence on Canyon View Way. This case is still under investigation.

Wanted Person: Officers arrested a female on E Old Mill Rd who had an outstanding warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Wanted Person: Officers contacted a suspicious male outside a local convenience store on N Sandhill Blvd. The male subject was arrested on an active bench warrant.

May 16

Wanted Person: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation at N Sandhill Blvd & I15 NB 122 On-Ramp. The passenger in the vehicle had a warrant and was arrested.

Theft from Vehicle: Officer were dispatched to a local residence on Honeysuckle Ct, reference stolen property. The victim is reporting some items were taken from her vehicles. The R/p is requesting an event number for future reference.

Found Property: Officer took custody of a found bicycle on W Mesquite Blvd and booked into lost and found.

Theft: Officers responded to a grocery store on N Sandhill Blvd reference a report of theft. An adult male had left store property without paying for some items. The male was located and arrested for petit larceny and an alcohol offense.

May 17

Disorderly Conduct: Officers responded to a local casino on W Mesquite Blvd and arrested a disorderly male for Obscene Conduct, and Obstructing a Police Officer.

Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the I15 SB 120 Off-Ramp and located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The owner of the drugs was arrested.

Curfew Violation: An officer responded to a residence on Milky Way reference a female juvenile who was out past curfew, and had not returned home. The officer located the juvenile, who was with an adult female. The juvenile was returned home and issued a citation for curfew, and the adult was issued a citation for contributing to delinquency of a minor.

Stolen Property: Officer responded to a local pawn shop on W Mesquite Blvd on a report of stolen property pawned there. Item was verified as stolen and recovered and placed into the evidence vault. Investigation is ongoing.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a report of a theft from a motor vehicle on Jacaranda Way.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a residence for a theft from a vehicle call on Grayce Dr.

Citizen Assist: An officer responded to the police department, in reference to a citizen assist call.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a local residence on a report of a theft from a motor vehicle on Kitty Hawk Dr.

Citizen Assist: An officer was dispatched to the police department, in reference to a harassment call.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to a theft from a vehicle on Cottonwood Dr, several items were taken.

Fraud: Officer responded to a report of fraudulent activity on a debit card on Peartree Ln. Complainant had already contacted bank, and simply wanted police to be aware. They declined to provide a written statement.

Theft from Vehicle: An Officer responded to personal property stolen out of a vehicle on Cottonwood Dr.  A report was taken.

Found Property: An officer was dispatched to a local address on Tuscany Circle, in reference to a found property call.

Suicide: Officers responded to a local residence on Honeysuckle Ln in reference to a possible suicidal subject.  The adult male was located and transported to the hospital.

Wanted Person: Officer responded to a wanted person at the Mesquite Detention Center on Hillside Dr. One adult female was booked into jail and served the warrant without incident.

Theft: Police responded to a theft of a ladder from a local residence on Chaparral Dr. A report was taken and officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officers responded to Old Mill Road and Arrowhead reference a tire coming from I15 landed on the roadway. No injuries.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded for a traffic collision in a residential neighborhood on Pheasant Dr. No injuries involved. A reported was taken.
