Orchestra to perform songs from popular films
The Southern Nevada Symphony Orchestra will perform a show “It’s Time” on April 25 at 7 p.m. featuring music from the movies “Back to the Future,” “Avengers, End Game” and “Forrest Gump.”
The performance will be held at the Virgin Valley High School Theater, 820 Valley View Drive.
Ticket are $25 and available at the door or online at snsymphony.com. This is the final performance of the season for the symphony.
Mesquite Days scheduled for April 29-May 2
The annual Mesquite Days Celebration begins April 29 with Family Fun Night from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Old Mill Ballfields. This event will include activities, games, music, food and fun for all ages.
The event’s carnival and vendor fair will take place April 30 from 4-10 p.m., May 1 from 4-11 p.m. and Saturday from 2-10 p.m.
The Mayor’s free Pancake Breakfast is scheduled May 2 from 7-830 a.m. at Family Heritage Park, with the parade taking place on Mesquite Boulevard at 10 a.m.
Also on May 2 will be the Mesquite Mile run at 9:45 a.m. Participants will start near the Golden West and run the parade route and back. Spectators will line up along the parade route to cheer on the runners.
Also on Saturday, between 3-10 p.m., there will be live music at the Rec Center West Fields.
Pickleball event also part of Mesquite Days
The Mesquite Days Classic picleball event will run from April 27-29.
The event is for players of skill level from 3.0 to 4.5-plus, with age groups from youth (ages 14-18), Adult (19+, 30+ and 40+) and seniors from (50-90 in 5-year increments).
The tournament will take place at the Old Mill Pickle Ball Courts, 49 W. Old Mill Road. Registration continues through April 19.
