Cowboy poetry event slated for Nov. 20

The Mesquite Arts Council has scheduled its Mesquite Western Poets event on Nov. 20, 5-6 p.m. at the Senior Center, 102 W. Old Mill Road.

Come out and listen to cowboy poetry, music and experience the western lifestyle, along with soup and salad served.

Cost is $10. The menu is chicken noodle or broccoli soup, house salad, homemade roll, coffee, water and dessert.

Seating is limited. Tickets on sale with Krissy. Call the senior center at 702-346-5290.

fund-raiser benefits battle against cancer

The annual Pink Warrior’s Christmas and Golf Classic is scheduled Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Falcon Ridge Country Club, 1024 Normandy Lane.

The event will benefit the community’s fight against cancer.

Golf starts with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start with a family fun event in the parking lot from 10 a.m. to 2 p.,m. in the parking lot of the country club

In the evening, dinner and live entertainment will take place from 5:30 – 9 p.m. There will be raffles throughout the day.

Symphony schedules Christmas Festival

The Southern Nevada Symphony presents “A Christmas Festival” on Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. at the Virgin Valley High School  Theater, 820 Valley View Drive.

The event will be an evening of festive holiday music featuring the Zephyr Singers and pianist Vernon Robison.

Tickets are $20 and available at the door or online at www.snysymphony.com.

Free Thanksgiving Meal slated at Senior Center.

The annual Community Thanksgiving Meal is scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p..m., at the Senior Center, 102 W. Old Mill Road.

The event is sponsored by the City of Mesquite for residents of Mesquite, Bunkerville and surrounding areas to come and share a complementarity Thanksgiving meal.

This free holiday meal is made possible by generous donations of time and treasures by local business, individual and community groups.

To go meals will not be available.
