There were 189 building permits issued by the city of Mesquite in August, with a total value of $26.9 million. This is a decrease from the same month in 2021, when the city issued 195 permits, but with an decreased value at $8.8 million.

On a year-to-date basis, the city has issued 1,746 permits valued at $100.7 million, above the year-to-date total from 2021, which was 1,344 permits valued at $77.3 million.

As usual, single-family residences made up the bulk of the August permits, with 37 issued at a value of $7.9 million. This is a decrease from August of 2021, when there were 40 permits issued with a value of $8.08 million.

Pulte Homes of Nevada issued 18 permits for single-family homes, followed by Warmington Apartment Communities with seven, NRC with five, Beazer and LHSC with two each and Andrus and 3 spec LLC with one apiece.

The most expensive single-family home construction permit was valued at $328,224 by NRC, while the least expensive was by Richmond American Homes of Nevada, valued at $154,206.

There were no permits issued for multi-family residences in August, compared to zero in August 2021.

There were four commercial buildings permitted in August valued at $16.3 million, compared to two in August 2021 valued at $111,600. There were four permit for commercial modifications in August, valued at $341,966, compared to three in August 2021, valued at $48,500.

The city issued two new business permits, compared to five in August 2021.

The city issued 11 permits for blocks walls in August, compared to 12 in August 2021. There were 11 permits for swimming pools/spas in August, while there were nine in August 2021.

There were no demolition permit filed in August, with none in August 2021. There was zero grading permit in August, compared to two in August 2021.
