It’s Feb. and that means, “Healthy Heart Month”! The City of Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services Department and Mesa View Regional Hospital invite you to join them for the 16th Annual Mesquite Heart Walk.
The 5K (3.2 miles) walk begins at the Mesquite Recreation Center at 9 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Mesquite Recreation Center East Gym. From 8:30 to a few minutes before the walk, they will have registration and a small warm up for the participants, sponsored by the Lifelong Program in the gym. The walk ends at the Mesa View Medical Group, located to the left of the hospital. Everyone is invited and there is no cost to participants, donations are welcome.
Transportation back to the Mesquite Recreation Center will be provided by the Silver Rider Bus Company at no charge. Rides back will begin at 9:45a.m. until 11:30 a.m.

They will be taking pre-registration at the Mesquite Recreation Center before the event this year to accurately get numbers for the event and that all will receive a shirt. This weekend is your last chance to see the world’s best detective, Sherlock Holmes, who will be displaying his super sleuth ways in the Virgin Valley Theatre Group’s presentation of An Evening with Sherlock Holmes.
In three acts, each an independent story, the genius will be well tested as disappearing brides, blackmail and a murder play out in front of your eyes. The show has had wonderful audiences and great reviews; don’t miss it.
You can enjoy the mysteries confronting our favorite sleuth and his trusty partner, Dr. Watson, at the Mesquite Community Theater, 150 N. Yucca St. this Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m.
