Mesquite Recreation Center, City Offices and many of our wonderful family businesses will be closed for Thanksgiving Day on Thursday, Nov. 28 and on Friday, Nov. 29 for Family Day as well, or they will have limited hours. Be sure to check with your local businesses for their holiday schedules.
This Nov 30, you can be a part of the 10th annual holiday shopping tradition, Shop Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express. This is an event that helps to bring communities together in support of their favorite small businesses. Shop Small and make a big impact in your community.
The day after Thanksgiving kicks off the biggest shopping days of the entire year, but Small Business Saturday gets far less attention than the shopping days it’s sandwiched between.
Enticed by some of the lowest prices of the year, shoppers flock to big box stores on Black Friday and shop online deals all day Cyber Monday.
There are plenty of deals to be snagged if you shop Small Business Saturday as well. Every dollar you spend at small businesses does far better than your dollars spent with other retailers.
Mesquite Chamber signed up 17 businesses to participate this year; You can pick up your passports and maps to the businesses at the Front Porch Flowers and Gifts, 12 W. Mesquite Blvd. at 9 a.m.
This week’s calendar is thin except for the wonderful programs our library has to offer; check it out, there’s something for everyone at the Mesquite Library 160 W. First North St.
