St. George, Utah, March 2026 – St. George has a truly unique and special Easter and Good Friday tradition. It is the “Ecumenical Way of the Cross Walk”. Though there are many Christian faiths who remember, honor and even reenact the 15 ‘Stations of the Cross’ that commemorates Jesus Christ’s journey to Calvary and His Crucifixion, our St. George community does a truly interfaith ‘Way of the Cross.’ Thus the ‘Ecumenical’ part. ‘Ecumenical’ means representing a number of Christian Churches.
According to Carole Drake, St. George Interfaith Council Past President, “It is time to prepare for the very special truly Interfaith ‘Ecumenical Way to the Cross’ hosted by and sponsored by the Saint George Catholic Church. The Walk this year will be held on Good Friday, April 3, at 11:00am. This year will be the 20th annual ‘Ecumenical Way of theCross’. For an added meaningful event for you and your family and friends please come and experience this very unique and special event”.
To participate please gather at the northeast corner of Sandtown Park, located at 600 North Bluff Street, St. George, at 10:45 A.M., Friday, April 3, 2026.
Participants will walk from Sandtown Park to the Saint George Catholic Church at 259 West 200 North, while many local leaders of different faiths re-enact the 15 stations of the cross of Jesus’ crucifixion. This event will last about one hour and is a lovely walk and a meaningful Easter Experience. Everyone is welcome!
