Washington County, UT — As the United States begins its 250th anniversary celebration, Southern Utah is leading the way. From April 17–19, the Washington County Fairgrounds will host the Freedom Pageant and Founders Festival, two interactive, family-friendly events that honor the values of liberty, resilience, and patriotism that shaped our nation.
Presented by Liberty Village and sponsored by Washington County, these events serve as the official kickoff of a local America 250 celebration that will continue through July 4, 2026.
Freedom Pageant: A Musical Tribute to America’s Heroes
This dynamic stage production invites audiences on a powerful journey through key moments of the Revolutionary War. From Paul Revere’s midnight ride to George Washington’s pivotal leadership, the Freedom Pageant tells the story of our nation’s founding through music, drama, and heartfelt performances.
With a cast of historical figures and unsung heroes, the pageant brings to life the courage and sacrifices that secured our freedoms—perfect for all ages.

Founders Festival: A Hands-On Colonial Experience
Included with admission to the Washington County Fair, the Founders Festival runs April 17–19 and transforms part of the fairgrounds into a living history village. Families can explore colonial crafts, games, and live demonstrations that transport them to the 18th century.
Children can try wool carding, learn candle-making, and enjoy interactive history lessons—all designed to make history come alive in fun and engaging ways.

Liberty Village is a living history experience in development that aims “to ignite a passion for liberty through entertaining education and experiences inspired by the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights.”
As a hub for patriotic events and interactive history experiences, Liberty Village promotes the values of freedom, family, and faith through performances, replicas, and hands-on encounters. These events are the first in a multi-year schedule leading up to America’s Semiquincentennial in 2026.
