The last month has been like watching Looney Tunes re-runs with the Trump Administration as the Roadrunner and Democrats playing Wile E. Coyote.

Consider the executive order in which Mr. Trump, surrounded by girls in what will no doubt become an iconic photo in presidential history, banned trans men from participating in girls’ and women’s sports.

“The war on women’s sports is over,” Trump said.

And Democrats wailed “Nooooo!”

“Heavens to Murgatroyd, we’ll fight to the end,” they said.

So, armed with the latest Acme contraption they imitated Wile E. Coyote to take the other side of the girl’s sports issue.

Ka-boom!

Democrats took a long fall and again lay schmushed on the desert floor. The last thing they saw and heard was a cloud of dust and a “beep beep.”

Democrats flail over and over again, like a slumping baseball player who swings at every pitch.

USAID is another swing and miss. While USAID, which is really a CIA slush fund, may have programs worth continuing, it also funds programs that, shall we say politely, need more explanation. For example:

  • $20 million for producing Sesame Street in Iraq.
  • $1.5 million to advance DEI in Serbia.
  • A trans comic book aimed at kids in Peru.
  • $1.5 million to promote LGBT Jamaicans?
  • $10 million to try to engineer transgender mice.

$8 million to teach Sri Lankan journalists how to avoid “binary-gendered language?”

Here’s Sen. Chris Coons, whom you will remember also lied to us about Joe Biden being “sharp as a tack, ” actually got on CNN and defended spending 20 million bucks on funding Sesame Street in Iraq.

“This isn’t just funding a kids show for children, millions of children in countries like Iraq. It’s a show that helps teach values, helps teach public health, helps prevent kids from dying from dysentery and disease, and helps push values like collaboration, peacefulness, cooperation in a society where the alternative is ISIS extremism and terrorism.”

This is embarrassing.

Democrats have also bucked the tide by criticizing Trump for deporting illegals who are criminals. They will, I have no doubt, also slam Trump’s new tax bill, which will end taxes on both tips and Social Security.

It’s amazing to watch.

Postscript: Yes, I know I’ve mixed cartoon references. “Heavens to Murgatroyd” is a Snagglepuss quip from the Yogi Bear Show, created by Hanna-Barbera. The Roadrunner Show was a Warner Bros. production. In my house, on Saturday mornings, they were both on.
