Hunters Education Course scheduled for Jan. 11

A Hunters Education Course is scheduled Jan. 11 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mesquite Recreation Center, 100 W. Old Mill Road.

Cost is $10 and for ages 11 and up.

The Hunters Education Course is designed to help new hunters of all ages learn how to be safe and responsible members of the hunting community.

Youth dodgeball events slated January, February

Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services has scheduled youth Dodgeball events Thursdays beginning Jan. 16 through Feb.  6.

There will be three sessions for three age groups. For ages 7-8, the time is 5:15 p.m. For ages 9-10, the time is 6:15 p.m. For ages 11-12, the time is 7:15 p.m.

The season package is $35 and includes a t-shirt. There will be an $8 drop-in fee nightly for sessions for those who don’t pay for the full sessions and does not include a t-shirt.

The event will take place at the Mesquite Recreation Center Gym No. 2, 100 W. Old Mill Road.

Free ESL/HSE classes offered by CSN Mesquite

Online English as a Second Language and High School Equivalency classes are offered by the College of Southern Nevada.

The next placement test session is Jan. 13 at 10 a.m.

English as a Second Language classes provide intermediate to advanced English literacy skills for non-native English-speaking participants.

High School Equivalency classes focus on mathematics, reading and writing, science and social studies, providing participants with the necessary education to complete their High School Equivalency Test or General Eduction Degree.

Annual Motor Mania to bring more than 900 cars

The 2025 Mesquite Motor Mania! Car Show at the CasaBlanca resort will feature more than 900 cars  on Jan, 17-19.

The free event features vintage cars, new cars, custom automobiles, beloved classics. There will be  $15,000 in cash/drawings to give to Car Show Participants. So don’t forget to vote for your favorite vehicle.
