Prayer Over the City is a wonderful way to begin the New Year. We gather on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, New Years Day at noon in the historic St. George Tabernacle.

For almost 2 decades, the St. George Interfaith Council has held a “Prayer Over the City” program on New Year’s Day. 2025 marks the 18th one-hour program where religious leaders in St. George offer prayers focused on specific topics such as families, military, first responders and our military. Prayers are offered by faith leaders from 16 local churches, including Catholic, Presbyterian, US Army Reserve, Jewish, Lutheran, Baptist, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Baha’i, Methodist, Islam, Episcopal, Orthodox Christian, Center for Spiritual Living, Unitarian, Pentecostal, Salvation Army and others.

This marvelous welcome to the new year begins with music by the Interfaith Choir and a welcome by our host, Reverend Jimi Kestin of Solomon’s Porch Foursquare Fellowship. Following the flag ceremony and Pledge of Allegiance, the St. George Interfaith Choir will add to the spirit followed by the “short” prayers by 17+ faith leaders.

Please join the St. George Interfaith Council, the St. George Interfaith Choir and religious leaders of our community as we begin 2025 at Prayer Over the City Wednesday, January 1, at noon in the St. George Tabernacle. You will be blessed with a magical feeling of togetherness as you share special thoughts and prayers from our faith community.
