Mesquite, NV – The Mesquite Police Department is proud to announce that its Animal Control Division has been awarded the prestigious Agency of the Year Award by the National Animal Control Association (NACA). This national honor recognizes the division’s outstanding dedication to animal welfare, innovative community outreach, and exemplary service to the City of Mesquite.

The NACA’s Agency of the Year Award is presented annually to an agency that demonstrates excellence in the field of animal control and protection. Criteria for the award include includes effective training programs for personnel, outstanding/innovative public education programs, active community involvement, and average officer response time to calls for assistance. The Mesquite Animal Control Division has consistently gone above and beyond these standards, making a profound impact on the lives of animals and residents alike.

Chief Chesley commended the team, saying, “Our Animal Control Division is a vital part of our department and our community. Their commitment to compassionate and humane treatment of animals and public safety truly sets a new standard in animal welfare. Receiving this award is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”
