The City of Mesquite would like to say thank you to all the volunteers, organizations and individuals for their help organizing and contributing to this year’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner. “It was a tremendous success, thanks largely to the generosity of the sponsors, donors and volunteers,” said Grisyeda Belalcazar, Senior Services Supervisor.

We served & prepared around 936 walk-ins, 252 Drive thru, 250 homebound and 125 Dinners to assisted living facilities in Mesquite. Everything with the City Mesquites Annual Thanksgiving Dinner was wonderful “Belalcazar added”. Over 100 valuable volunteers helped set-up, prepare, serve, clear tables and clean-up for the dinner.

All volunteers, organizations, individuals and community leaders are to be commended for all their generosity and kindness. Senior Programmer, Krissy Thornton, praised all volunteers and said, “Their helpful and cheerful attitude made it a very warm and cordial environment”. We are grateful for all the help, this free holiday meal is made possible by the generosity of businesses, organizations and individuals in our community through the donation of time and treasure.

Generous donors for the dinner included Eureka Casino & Hotel, Mesquite Gaming, Kokopelli Landscaping, U.S. Food Services, Sysco Food Services, Kids for Sports Foundation, Meadow Gold Dairy Products and Silver Rider and other donors that wish to remain anonymous.

The City of Mesquite Department of Athletics & Leisure Services will definitely look forward to working with all businesses, organizations and volunteers in the future. Once again, thank you all for your contributions and volunteer hours that helped make this event extremely successful.
