After losing to Moapa Valley at the end of January, Virgin Valley High School’s Lady Bulldogs started Feb. with three straight wins. The Bulldogs crushed SLAM Academy 55-9 on Monday Feb.3 and slipped by 4A Silverado 36-26 on Wed. Feb.5. The Bulldogs rolled all over SLAM leading from start to finish. Ariel Ponce and Alexis Boatright had 14 points each followed by Nathalie Lagamayo and Riley Price with 9 points. The Lady Dawgs also led from start to finish against Silverado High School. The Dawgs led 21-11 at the break and finished the second period matching Silverado with 15 points. No official stats were available at this writing. The Bulldogs 3A Sunrise League record now sits at 7-3, good enough for third place in league standings. To insure a third place finish, the Lady Dawgs will have to win at least one of their final two league matches. The Dawgs travel to Boulder City on Tuesday Feb.11 before hosting Chaparral on Thur. Feb. 13.
