As the year 2019 passes, it offers us another chance to start over; bringing in the New Year with new goals. While many do write resolutions with every passing New Year, for some… it’s a matter of resetting the same old ones because the goal may not have been unattainable (unrealistic) the first time, causing them to give up early on; we are all  creatures of habit.

The year 2019 was a tough year for a lot of people, including me; so leaving it behind comes with open arms. As for a New Year’s resolution, I really don’t have one. What I do know, is I’d like to work on my own happiness this year, because truthfully speaking, we owe it to ourselves, and who doesn’t want to be happy. One cannot rely on others to make us feel happy. I also believe that if one is happy, other things can…and will…fall into place. So, beginning with ones’ own health, getting better sleep and more of it can aid in the rejuvenation process for the body and mind; A fresh start to a New Year all the way around.

Be kind to yourself. While this might sound weird or even redundant, it’s so important to take time for yourself, whether it’s reading a good book, taking a walk, or simply meditating, ‘you’ are important. Being kind to others should also be practiced, as it boosts in mood behaviors, creating one to feel slightly happier. It’s a benefit for both parties. Happiness is a sense of well-being, and so…it seemed appropriate to bring it up as we enter 2020, while so many are wishing one other a ‘Happy New Year’. When saying those words this year, think about happiness and what your wishes truly are for yourself as well as others. Mean it when you say it…while wishing someone a ‘Happy New Year’. Know that life is good and be cheerful about the coming New Year; happiness is contagious. My wishes for everyone are to be as positive as one can be and practice gratitude in your life. Let go of things you cannot change, and try to look at things differently with an approach out of your comfort zone. Live your life with zest and be the best version of yourself possible!! Happy New Year to all of you!

Make your life great!
