Register now for the opportunity to take part in the Nevada State Sport Stacking Championship here in Mesquite Nevada. The event is being sponsored by Virgin Valley, Beaver Dam Elementary and the City of Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services Department.   The event will take place Saturday, March 7, 2020 @8:00AM.

Registrations are being taken now on-line, through the World Sport Stacking Association (WSSA) web site Register online: www.thewssa.com/tournaments The WSSA was formed in 2001 as the World Cup Stacking Association but in 2005, both the name of the sport and the organization were changed in response to growing awareness that stacking had become an actual school-based sport. Sport stacking is now part of over 47,000 school and club programs in 54 countries worldwide.

This competition is a qualifier for the AAU Junior Olympic Games Sport Stacking Championships in Virginia Beach, VA this summer. Stackers do not need to attend the Junior Olympics to be part of this competition.

“The purpose of youth programs in the City of Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services Department is to guide boys and girls through an organized program,” said Zach Robison, Recreation Superintendent. “Youth can learn the fundamentals of a sport and learn sportsmanship through participation. The ultimate goal is to encourage skill development and foster a positive attitude.”
