A new community group has been formed. It is called R.A.I.S.E. Mesquite. R.A.I.S.E Mesquite -Raising Awareness, Interest, Support, and Engagement.
Our first event will be held on Saturday. October 19th behind ACE Hardware. It is a children’s clothing swap-n-meet that is totally free for sellers with tables provided. All we ask is for two non-perishable food items to be donated for our food banks. The event starts at 7AM for those who are selling so they can ‘shop’ the other tables before we open the doors at 8AM to the public. ACE Lumber is also having an end-of-season clearance event and demonstration. Bounce house too! Waffle Time will be there.
Home consultants are also offered a free table, although you may have to sit two to a table. Anyone who sells out of their home is welcome.
All who want a table need to email R.A.I.S.E.Mesquite@gmail.com for instructions and directions.
The group’s goal is to bring people together with fun, free events, including families and our senior community. We have residents interested in doing projects to spruce up Mesquite Boulevard with art category projects, using seniors and teens together to complete a project. Our members are reaching far and wide to get a food truck parking lot fest at least every two months, hopefully more. Businesses in Mesquite have offered their parking lots to host them. We are working to become a non-profit entity and have offers of funds to pay for the legal fees. Our residents are wonderful!
