The VVHS boy soccer team responded well after being shutout 9-0 at Chaparral on Tuesday by defeating SLAM Academy 3-2 in Las Vegas. “We started well with good pressure,” said assistant Bulldog coach Jhonathon Pantelakis. “We had opportunities but could not finish. The Bulls scored first but we came back on a beautiful cross from David Baltzar to Zach Trimming for goal.” The Bulls scored goal again before the break to take a 2-1 lead.

The Dawgs tied the game minutes into the second half on a breakaway and chip shot from David Baltazar. Minutes later Rivaldo attacked goal blocking the goalkeepers kick into goal giving the Dawgs their third and final goal for the win. “Our boy’s held their own,” added Pantelakis. “We have our ups and downs but never let up despite the score.” The Bulldogs travel to Doral Academy on Oct. 2 before hosting Moapa Valley and Sky Pointe on Oct 7 and 11 respectfully.
