The Virgin Valley High School Bulldogs upcoming game with Cimarron-Memorial will be the biggest test of the young season. The 4A Spartans are 2-0 so far this season with wins over Boulder City 31-19 and Mojave 56-0, both 3A schools. The Cimarron squad is led by running back Jordan Norwood who ran through the Eagles for 241 yards plus 168 yards against the Rattlers. Bulldog Coach Matt Woods said,” The consensus among Nevada high school coaches, is that Norwood is the best running back in the state. Our defense will be tested by the Spartans athleticism and speed. I may hold Wyatt Delano back to rest up his injured ankle.” The Spartans speed is apparent, as quarterback Branden Smith added 125 yards and two touchdowns on only two carries against Mojave. Smith has 226 yards though the air to go along with his 155 yards on the ground. Jose Carrasco leads the defense with 13 tackles and 2 interceptions.

If Delano is held back, the Bulldog Q.B. tandem of Mebs Hollinshead and Kyler Sudweeks will have to open up the passing game for the Dawgs. The duo has hit for 300+ yards and ran for 100 yards in the first three weeks of the season. The Bulldog linebackers and defensive line will need to be zero free of mistakes for the Bulldogs to win this one. Hate to say it but the Dawgs without Delano could be in for a tough night.
