On Friday, July 26, at approximately 1:45 p.m. Mesquite police officers responded to local service station for a report of two men inside attempting to pass counterfeit $100 bills. Officers received a description of the men and the vehicle they were in and immediately began searching the area.
Officers located the vehicle outside a nearby casino and found the men inside the casino. During their investigation officers searched the vehicle and recovered $800 in counterfeit bills, several forged checks, stolen identification cards, printing equipment used to produce counterfeit checks and currency, over 10 grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded firearm.
Vincent Matlock, 51, of Las Vegas was arrested and charged with multiple counts of possession of forged instruments.
James Guerrie, 51, of Las Vegas was arrested for trafficking methamphetamine, several counts of possession of forged instruments, and possession of financial forgery laboratory. Due to the felony charges both men were booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges for both men are pending.

He continued, “These officers worked diligently as a team to locate the suspects and conduct a thorough investigation. Their excellent work led to the suspects’ arrest and prevented further people and businesses from being victimized.”
