July 7:
Fighting: I responded to a local residence on a reported fight. One male was taken into custody and transported to Mesquite Detention Center without incident.
Assault/Battery: Officer responded to a casino reference a past domestic battery incident. A report was completed.
Graffiti: Officer completed a report of graffiti.
Theft: On 7/7/2019 I responded to a local retail store on a reported theft. I gathered information for initial report.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officer was dispatched to a reckless driver call. The driver was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and transported to Mesquite Detention Center.
Juvenile Problem: On 7/7/2019 I, Officer G Garcia, responded to a local residence on a verbal dispute. I gathered information for a report. No crime was reported.
July 8:
Burglary: Officers located a suspicious male loitering in a residential area late at night. Officers contacted the male who was in possession of a cash register drawer. An investigation was completed and the male was arrested on burglary charges.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer completed a report of a hit and run accident.
Background Investigation: A Detective completed a Business license background investigation.
July 9:
Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense. One adult female was arrested for drug paraphernalia.
Fraud: Report taken of fraudulent use of a financial transaction device.
Theft from Vehicle: Report of theft from motor vehicle on Mesquite Blvd. taken.
July 10:
Trespassing: Mesquite Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. business reference a person trespassing. Mesquite Officer took the suspect into custody for obstructing Public Officer.
Wanted person: Detectives arrested a male who had 2 warrants out of Mesquite Justice Court.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a report of property damage at a local sports park. One male was cited and released for the damage.
Suspicious Person: Officers investigated an incident of a possible physical attack to a female at a casino. The further investigation, it was determined no attack occurred and no crime was committed.
July 11:
Fraud: Officers took a report of identity theft. The investigation is ongoing.
Theft: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a defrauding an innkeeper. The suspect has been identified and the case will be submitted to the City Prosecutor.
Recovered Stolen Vehicle: Upon running a standard records check on a vehicle’s license plate at a local casino an officer observed the vehicle to be reported stolen. One male and one female were later arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a schedule 3 controlled substance.
Theft: Officers responded to an Old Mill Rd. apartment complex reference a theft. The case is currently being investigated.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer took a report of damage to a home under construction.Fraud: Officers responded to a residence reference a fraud. A report was completed.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a public park reference a report of juveniles vandalizing property at the park. Two male juveniles’ offenders were located and trespassed from Mesquite City parks.
Wanted person: An officer responded to a local roadway on a report of an intoxicated person sleeping in the gutter. One male was arrested for two warrants, and cited and released for resisting a public officer and intoxicated person in the roadway.
Wanted person: Officers arrested one adult male for multiple Mesquite Municipal Court warrants.
July 12:
Intoxicated Person: Officers responded to a casino on an intoxicated male damaging property. One adult male was arrested for vandalism, breach of peace, and public urination.
Graffiti: An officer responded to a report of a male and female placing graffiti on city property. One female was cited and released for graffiti.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer made consensual contact with 2 females and one male in a grocery store parking lot. The officer developed suspicion of illegal narcotics and performed an investigation. Two females were arrested for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and consuming marijuana in a public place.
Theft: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a theft.
July 13:
Identification Check: Officers responded to a casino reference and ID check. One female adult was issued a citation for being under the influence of alcohol and gambling under the age of 21 years old.
Traffic Stop: One adult male was arrested for driving on suspended DL, no proof of insurance, and expired registration.
