Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 178 calls this week:

Feb. 24:

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer completed a report of property damage.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to a Church on a report of graffiti. A report was completed.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Dispatched to private property property damage. On arrival, determined bot vehicles were parked in adjacent parking spaces and the child of the owner of V1 opened a door, striking V2. V2 incurred a minor dimple-style dent in its RF door. V2 had no discenrnable damage. Both owners filled out and echanged Private Property Driver Exchange forms. Officers Alejos and Medina were also on scene. Nothing further.

Fighting: Officers responded to fights at the Mesquite Sports and Event Complex during the Pylon 7on7 event.  The fights were broken up and several teams were asked to leave the venue.

Citizen assist: Officer responded to a local casino for a lost property report.

Feb. 25:

Recovered stolen vehicle: Spoke with R/P from previous report of a stolen vehicle. I was advised that the vehicle had been recovered out of state.

Wanted person: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. The adult female passenger was arrested for a warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court.

Hit & Run: Officers responded to a hit and run traffic accident on a Mesquite roadway. The offender vehicle was not located.

Controlled substance problem: Responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd.  hotel on reported drugs and paraphernalia located in a guest room. Officer took possession of the items and placed them into evidence.

Traffic stop: Officer conducted at traffic stop for a traffic offence. The driver had an active warrant. The driver was transported and booked into Mesquite Detention Center for the traffic offence.

Feb. 26:

Disturbance of school: Officer responded to a student disrupting school and refusing to comply with administration/faculty. The student’s guardian was notified, and the student was charged with breach of peace/disturbing a school.

Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln. residence on a report of a theft from vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

Past disturbance: Officers responded to a middle school on a report of a disturbance. One male adult was issued a citation for breach of peace.

Feb. 27:

Agency assistance: Detectives assisting Piute County Sheriff’s Office with a burglary and pawned items.

Wanted person: Officer contacted a subject with an active warrant for his arrest. One male subject was taken into custody for the warrant.

Fraud: Officers responded to a Mesa Springs Dr. residence reference a possible fraud. A report was completed for documentation purposes.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to a gated community reference damage to the front gate. There are no suspects currently.

Fraud: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department for a report of a fraud.

Officer completed an officer report due to the crime occurring outside of our jurisdiction.

Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a fraud. A report was completed.

Feb. 28:

Agency assistance: Officers responded to a business to assist Mesquite Fire and Rescue with a naked male adult, confused as to where he was. The male was cited and released for disturbing the peace.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a battery. Neither party wanted to file charges. During the investigation one adult male was issued a citation for trespassing and released.

Traffic stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for minor traffic offense. After investigation one female subject was taken into custody for driving under the influence of controlled substance and possession of controlled substance.

Fraud: Officers took a report via telephone of a fraud that occurred at a local business. The investigation is on-going.

Agency assistance: An officer responded to a Hagens Alley residence reference an agency assist call. Officer spoke with MFD who advised the male was deceased. An officer’s report was completed.

Trespassing: An officer was dispatched to a N. Sandhill Blvd. hotel in reference to a trespass violator.  An adult female subject was taken into custody for trespassing.

March 1:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino on a trespass call. One male was issued a citation for trespassing.

Wanted person: Officers spoke to a male in the street near the area of a previous incident. The male had an active warrant and was arrested on the warrant.

Dead body: Officers responded to a residence on an agency assist medical call. Upon arrival MFD confirmed an adult male was deceased.

Wanted person: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle. After investigation one male was taken into custody for a felony warrant.

Controlled substance problem: Officers made contact with an adult female inside a local casino which led to an arrest for possession of a controlled substance.

Traffic accident w/ damage: Officers responded to a roadway regarding a traffic accident involving one vehicle. A report was completed.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a casino on a call of trespass. One adult female was

arrested for trespass.

Property damage, non-vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a local residence, in reference to property damage.

Theft from Vehicle: Officers responded to a residence on a report of theft from a vehicle, a report was taken.

March 2:

Theft from vehicle: Responded to report of vehicle being entered without permission. No items were taken.

Burglary: Officer responded to a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was located, investigation is ongoing.

Theft from vehicle: Officers responded to an Aztec Circle residence for a report of an auto burglary.

Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a San Marino Way residence for a theft from vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.

Controlled substance problem: An officer contacted two juveniles walking on a Mesquite roadway. One juvenile was issued a citation for possession of marijuana.

Traffic accident w/ injuries: Officers responded to an accident with injuries on a Mesquite roadway. One male adult and one female juvenile were transported for minor injuries. One female driver was cited for traffic offenses.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr.  residence for a report of a suspicious situation. The reporting person saw what he believed was someone breaking into an apartment. The investigation resulted in finding a person who was locked out of his own residence and trying to get in through the window. The male had an outstanding warrant with the Mesquite Police Department and was taken into custody.

Traffic stop: Officer observed a traffic offence. Upon contact with the driver the officer observed an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver was issued a citation for the traffic offence and open container of alcohol and released. The driver showed no signs of impairment.

Domestic trouble: The officer took a report of a domestic battery. The suspect was gone upon arrival. The female victim did not cooperate much with the investigation.
