Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 165 calls this week:

Jan. 27:

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle call. The vehicle was occupied by two adult males and one adult female. The registered owner consented to a vehicle search. Officer located heroin and drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. One male and the female were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd, business in reference to property damage. One male adult was cited and released for property damage.

Theft: Officer’s contacted a female who stated her husband made an unlawful entry to her mother’s business and stole a large sum of money that belonged to the business.

Business or license problem: Assisted State Taxi Cab Authority on a business license violation.

Theft: Officers responded to a Commerce Park storage facility reference a theft from a trailer. A report was completed.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a two-car collision in a controlled intersection. One passenger was taken to the hospital to be checked out and both cars had to be towed from the scene. The collision was caused by one vehicle failing to yield the right of way.

Jan. 28:

Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a fraud. A report was completed.

Lost property: Officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a lost property. A report was completed.

Fraud: Officers responded to a residence on a report of fraud. A report was completed and will be forwarded to detectives.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer were dispatched to the round-about for a non-injury two vehicle  accident. A driver was cited for the cause of the accident and an accident report was completed.

Property damage, non -vandalism: Officers responded to a suspicious person who was checking cars and car door handles. It was discovered a male had broken into a vehicle but fled the area just prior to officer’s arrival. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the subject.

Jan. 29:

Vandalism: Officers responded to a Kitty Hawk Dr. apartment complex reference a property damage. A report was completed.

Found property: Officers took a report of found property.

Traffic stop: Detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, and the adult male passenger was arrested for an outstanding Mesquite Municipal Court warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia. The adult female driver was issued a citation for traffic offenses and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Minor gambling: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a minor gambling. Upon arrival one adult under the age of 21 was cited and released for minor gambling

Traffic accident w/o injury: A male driver was involved in a single vehicle accident causing property damage to a fire hydrant. The driver left the scene on foot and was later located. The male was issued multiple citations for the accident.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a report of a domestic. Upon investigation two individuals were taken into custody as result of the investigation.

Jan. 30:

Traffic Stop: An officer observed a suspicious vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop his vehicle and he crashed and fled from officers. The male was later arrested on multiple felonies.

Dead body: Police responded to a death of natural causes.

Wanted person: Officer responded to a casino for a report of a male subject trespassing. One male subject was taken into custody for an unrelated warrant.

Controlled substance problem: Detectives responded to a store reference a suspicious couple.  An adult female was arrested for various drug related charges.

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd.  casino for a report of a trespass violator. One male subject was taken into custody for violation of trespass.

Traffic stop: An adult male was stopped for traffic violations.  A search of the vehicle produced illegal possession of prescription narcotics.

Phone harassment: Officer completed a harassment report.

Wanted person: Officers located a male known to have an active warrant. The male was located in a business and arrested on the active warrant.

Jan. 31:

Theft: Officers took a report of thefts that occurred at W. Mesquite Blvd. business.

Theft: Officers were dispatched to an E. Pioneer Blvd.  casino, in reference to a theft.  An adult male subject was cited and released for trespassing.

Burglary: Police took a report for a residential burglary on Adobe Dr.

Burglary: Police took a tampering with a vehicle report on Adobe Dr.

Burglary: Police took a report for a theft from vehicle on Adobe Dr.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a report of an accident. Officer completed an accident report.

Burglary: Police took a report for auto burglary on Adobe Dr.

Fraud: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department for a report of fraud. Officer took the fraud report and investigation is ongoing.

Traffic accident w/ damage: Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision with property damage. A report was completed and the at fault driver was issued a citation.

Burglary: Officers responded to a Tucson St. residence reference a residential burglary. A firearm was stolen from the home and the investigation is ongoing.

Stolen property: Officers took a report of a stolen firearm. One male adult was arrested for grand larceny of a firearm, possession of stolen property, harassment, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: A male adult grabbed another patron’s chips at an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino. The patron signed a citation against the male adult for petit larceny. The male was read the trespass warning. The male left property without further incident.

Feb. 1:

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino parking lot for a report of a trespass violator. One male subject was taken into custody for trespass violation.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Dispatched to private property non-injury accident. Prior to arrival, RP called back and advised drivers had exchanged information and the PD could disregard.

Found property: Police booked found property into the Mesquite Detention Center evidence vault.

Animal bite: Officer responded to the hospital for a report of a male subject injured in a dog bite. Report was taken and forwarded to Animal Control.

 

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer completed a non-injury traffic accident report.

Burglary: An officer completed a reported of a burglary from a motor vehicle on Adobe Dr. The investigation is ongoing.

Burglary: Officer took a theft from motor vehicle report on Adobe Dr.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino in reference to a trespass violator. One adult male was cited and released for trespassing.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a residence in reference to a domestic disturbance. One female adult was cited and released, for domestic battery (1st offense) due to medical conditions. On male adult was arrested for domestic battery (1st offense).

Feb. 2:

Domestic violence: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a domestic battery. One adult female was arrested for domestic battery.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a two-vehicle accident at the south roundabout. There were no injuries and both vehicles sustained damage. Driver information was exchange with one driver cited.
