You needn’t fear not having anything to do during the spookiest week of the year; there’s a lot going on for the kiddies and maybe even some fun to be had by the parents as well.
Beginning Thursday, Oct. 25 you’ll be amazed, entertained and scared out of your wits at the Shreekreeka sponsored by the Eureka Community Imitative. They promise games, a live DJ until 8:30 p.m. and lots of tricks and treats. Shreekreeka is a free community event.
On Saturday, Oct. 27 the Mesquite Senior Games is sponsoring their First Annual Health and Wellness Fair. Fair hours will be from 10 a.m. until 2p.m. The fair will be held in the courtyard of the new library and will feature the various senior games events along with local business owners around town who support senior fitness for both body and mind.
Bunkerville Library is celebrating serving the community of Bunkerville for 50 years with an open house on Saturday, Oct. 27 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m.
The Mesquite Senior Games is passionate about promoting senior health and fitness for both body and mind. Visitors can learn about each of the games and local businesses, and participate in simple fitness activities. Those that visit each table and perform their simple activity will be rewarded with a gift from Mesquite Senior Games and be entered into a drawing for a bicycle.
On Sunday and Monday the Virgin Valley Theatre Group will be holding auditions, at the Community Theater, for female supporting parts in The Sunshine Boys. Rehearsals begin on Nov. 5. Schedule will be determined after casting is complete according to cast members’ and directors’ needs.
On Tuesday, Oct. 30, the kiddies once again have the chance to play some tricks/games and earn some treats at the Mesquite United Methodist Church’s Spooktacular Halloween Carnival. There are a ton of activities planned for the kids from bounce houses to face paints and ‘decorate your own scary cupcakes’. Ghouls, witches and goblins might want to bring your best face/costume to the event because there’s a prize for the best of the best. There’s even a pumpkin carving contest so get your pumpkins carved at home and bring them down for the prize. Kids, please make sure you supervise your parents closely when working with sharp instruments. Parents, bring your walking shoes, the cake walk is back again too.
And the grand finale of the week ends with some serious Hocus Pocus happening at the Mesquite Police Department’s Annual Trunk or Treat on Halloween night. It’s the best way to make sure your kids stay safe on Halloween. There may be some Hocus Pocus (it’s the theme this year) but there has never been any dirty deeds reported when the kids stay safe with the MPD and all the local businesses that help support the event. Have a safe and spooky Halloween!
Remember to send in those event notices to terin.bbm@gmail.com so you can everyone know what’s happening with your group or club.
