Check out the Mesquite Library programs. There are a variety of programs for children and adults. Some of the children’s activities include Preschool Storytime, a 30 minute activity that uses a wide variety of books, songs and participatory activities for young children and their parents.
During Toddler Storytime, babies and toddlers enjoy songs, nursery rhymes, stories and finger plays with their favorite adult. This program introduces kids and parents to language-enrichment activities and emerging literacy skills; Optional stay-and-play additional 20 minutes for toddlers and moms social time.
Kid’s Steam exposes kids to Expressive Art, Science, Coding, and Lego. There is a new activity each time.
Teen programs operate under the principles of HOMAGO. The term, which stands for “Hanging out, messing around, geeking out,” refers to spaces and learning activities that allow for flexibility, hands-on experimentation, collaboration, and tinkering in areas of personal interest.
The Mesquite Library has partnered with the 4-H organization for a unique opportunity for kids to become involved in new and different activities.
Don’t forget Homework Help can provide assistance with children and their homework. Homework help is available Monday -Thursday from 3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Don’t miss the Party in the Park hosted by Mesquite City Council Candidate Karen Feilding at Marilyn Redd Park beginning at 4 p.m.; you can rock out to some great classic rock provided by Dealt-A-Straight.
Remember to send in those event notices, the summer is coming to an end and things are going to be happening that you’ll want folks to know about. Send them to terin.bbm@gmail.com so you can everyone know what’s happening with your group or club.
