The Nevada Small Business Development Center in Mesquite has a new part time advisor available to meet with business owners and entrepreneurs to assist with start-ups and local business development.  Courtney Sweetin has taken on the role of SBDC Business Counselor and is housed in the Mesquite Regional Business (MRB) office located in the Bank of Nevada building.

Courtney has called the Virgin Valley home for the past five years.  She has an undergraduate degree in education from Brigham Young University and a Masters in Business Administration from UC Davis.  She was a teacher for four years and has worked in education reform in Sacramento, Washington D.C. and Clark County, Nevada.  She taught business courses at the College of Southern Nevada before moving to Mesquite where she also started a small business in 2014.

Says Sam Males, State Director of the Nevada SBDC, “We are very excited to have Ms. Sweetin join the Nevada SBDC 15-office statewide network. Courtney’s education and practical business experience provide a solid foundation to make her a great counselor. We look forward to having an expert in Mesquite that can help entrepreneurs start businesses, create jobs, and get financing.”
