Kathleen J. Warner, 71, passed away in her home on May 23, 2018 in Mesquite, NV. Kathy was born on July 25, 1946 in Forsyth, MT to Frank and Jean (Cramer) Lange and was raised on a large family ranch.
Kathy later graduated from Montana State University in Billings with a degree in Elementary Education and Library Science. As a teacher in Terry, MT Kathy met Cactus Warner, a teacher also. They were married June 14, 1969 at the Immaculate Conception in Forsyth, MT. Kathy taught until the untimely death of her sister-in-law and brother-in-law in 1978. She and Cactus moved their family to Minnesota and North Dakota to help their nephews and began farming in the Red River Valley, where they raised their children. In 1999, the retired and moved to Mesquite, NV where Kathy started subbing in the Virgin Valley Schools. She became a full-time 3rd grade teacher in Bunkerville, NV. After that, she became a substitute and remedial teacher at the Virgin Valley Elementary School until she retired in 2017.
The greatest loves in Kathy’s life were her faith in God, her family, and her country. Secondary to those, she loved teaching, outdoor activities, reading, and spending time with her family and traveling with them. Kathy was a member of the Virgin Guadalupe Church. She taught CCD for 40 years and was a very active volunteer.
Kathy is survived by her three children; Brianna (Daryl) Watson of Riverton, WY, Annette (Rick) Salyer of Henderson, NV, and Nathan (Glenna) Warner of Mesquite, NV, and four grandchildren; Derek and Shelby Watson and Regan and Aric Salyer; seven brothers and sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass Services will be held at la Virgen de Guadalupe Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. PST. The family would like to invite you to leave a message or a memory on their “Guest Book” at virginvalleymortuary.com.
Kathy was an inspiration to all the women in St. MARTHA’S Guild. I would have liked to know her better. She will be missed by so many. May her soul rest in peace and God Bless her family.
Kathy will be missed by many, children and adults alike. She was a dedicated teacher, mother, wife and friend. Always giving of herself – generous with her time and talents. A woman to be emulated. Kind, caring, devout, and a woman of faith. I will miss our many inspirational talks in the parking lot after church. She taught me so much. However, there is no doubt where she is today – in the presence of angels, and “home” with Jesus. Sincere condolences to you all – praying for God to comfort and give you peace
Ms. Warner was a favorite sub of several of my sons. She was always happy and kind. I spent a lot of time at the school myself and she was always smiling when I saw her. So glad to have known her. My love and prayers to her family.
Kathy will continue to be an inspiration to me. I saw in her the light of Christ. My regret is that I didn’t spend more time with this amazing lady. May God bless her family and guide them through her inspiration.
