Seeking Nevada Organizations interested in developing national service programs to address critical community needs
Nevada, Statewide, February 2, 2018 —
Nevada Volunteers is pleased to release this Notice of Funding Opportunity which requests applications from Nevada organizations and agencies interested in receiving AmeriCorps funding to recruit, place, and supervise AmeriCorps members. Nevada is excited to open this Notice of Funding Opportunity for nonprofits, faith-based organizations or government entities looking to make a positive impact through development of a national service program in Nevada for the grant year beginning September 1, 2018.
Nevada Volunteers and the Corporation for National and Community Service seek to prioritize the investment of national service resources in the following areas:
- Healthy Futures – reducing and/or preventing prescription drug and opioid abuse
- Child Wellness – in one or more of the following areas:
o Reducing and/or preventing child abuse
o Improving outcomes for child victims of abuse
o Improving outcomes for foster youth, including youth aging out of foster care
- Working to improve or support improvements of infrastructure
Nevada Volunteers is also seeking planning grant applications through this Notice. Planning grants give organizations the ability to design new AmeriCorps programs with Nevada Volunteers support. Planning grant applications are limited to no more than $75,000; funding supports a program director to develop the program and other program costs. Unlike operational AmeriCorps grants, planning grants do not support AmeriCorps members.
Organizations interested in applying for this funding should review the full Notice of Funding Opportunity and additional training and technical assistance information on the Nevada Volunteers Website: https://nevadavolunteers.org/americorps/americorps-funding/notice-of-funding-opportunities/
