The Mesquite Branch of Washington Federal Bank presented a check for $500 to Chairman George Gault and Treasurer Rich Green of Mesquite Works on January 8 as a part of their commitment to giving back to the community.
“We are excited to be able to help with an organization that does so much for our community,” said Laurie Gable, manager of the branch. “We are working on being more involved with our customers and our local businesses. This is just the first step of many that we are planning on making.”
The money donated will assist Mesquite Works in their operation costs at their office located at 312 W. Mesquite Blvd, Suite 102. The nonprofit organization has helped over 100 clients throughout the past year learn how to successfully interview for jobs around the Virgin and Moapa Valleys with their various classes and skilled volunteers as well as many job fairs.
“We always appreciate the support from the community,” said Gault, “and we are especially thankful for businesses like Washington Federal who see the benefits we provide our workforce and choose to invest in our cause. We wouldn’t be here without them.”
Mesquite Works will be partnering with the Eureka Casino Resort and the Rising Star Sports Ranch again this year for each of their job fairs. With the next event scheduled for February 21 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Rising Star Sports Ranch Grand Ballroom, many local companies will be looking for their next great employee.
