If you’re like me this is a difficult time as I lost both parents and a dear aunt in early 2016. Fortunately I help lead an excellent program that will help me and you understand the grieving process – GriefShare . I invite you to join me and others like us in our journey from mourning to joy.
“GriefShare” is a grief recovery support group! It will be held at the Mesquite United Methodist Church in a classroom off the Fellowship Hall from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday afternoons. Sessions will start on Jan. 8, 2017 and will last 13 weeks ending Sunday, Apr. 2, 2017. There is a nominal fee of $15 for a workbook which may be waived in hardship instances. Please call the church office at 702-346-4663 to pre-register or email the facilitator, Jean Cole, at her email address – danjeancole@gmail.com or call her at 702-343-4378 with questions.
GriefShare is a special, non-denominational seminar and support group led by trained Stephen Ministers. The course is Bible-based and uses a professionally produced video in each session which introduces important recovery topics for those grieving the loss of a loved one. GriefShare, while a Ministry of the United Methodist Church, is open to all people in the community. The group facilitators have experienced and understand what you are going through and provide a confidential, supportive environment in which you will find comfort and encouragement while you work through this difficult time in your life.
Each GriefShare session includes a video and group discussion. The videos were produced by top experts in grief recovery and include real-life stories of people who have experienced losses. During the small group discussions, you will have the opportunity to interact with others who have share your burden of a recent loss. A Grief Share workbook assists you with note-taking, journaling and grief study.
Please join us and we journey from mourning to joy.
