On Saturday, Dec. 3, from 11 a.m. to noon, the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum invites you to come to the museum and listen to the Christmas stories of yore told by Diana Coonradt. This free family-oriented event is open to all ages.

Coonradt is a talented local artist involved in the Mesquite community.  For the past several years, she has come to the museum during Christmas time and told stories.

For the early settlers, storytelling was part of the fabric of Christmas.  The pioneers also enjoyed sports, competitions, dances, caroling, family dinners and pageants.  Generally, the week leading up to Christmas and the week after were a continuous celebration.

In addition to telling stories on Dec. 3, the museum staff will start trimming the Christmas tree.  Drop by and help make a homemade ornament and pop it on the tree.
