On Saturday, Nov. 19 Thanksgiving came early to one Mesquite family. Terry and Bethany Green were given a gift of Love from the Sun City Mesquite Gourmet Cooking Club (SSMGCC) with the presentation of a full Thanksgiving dinner with all the accompanying fixings as we all met at the Virgin Valley Food Bank location.
This is the 6 year the SCMGCC has provided this heartfelt gesture to a Mesquite family in need. Each year Leslee Montgomery of the Virgin Valley Food Bank has provided a deserving family’s name to the Sun City Gourmet Cooking Club.
The Green family has 4 adopted children with 2 others pending adoption and are foster parents to 3 additional children; some with special needs.
This year the SCM Gourmet Cooking Club has also challenged all the recreational Clubs of Sun City Mesquite to follow suit and participate in this same type of giving for deserving families of Mesquite during the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons.
