Fire crews were called to the CasaBlanca Resort property Thursday morning at about 9:30 a.m. where they found a riding lawnmower completely in flames. After unsuccessful attempts to douse the fire with six extinguishers, fire crews were called upon by a passing-by ambulance.

According to employees on site, the operator of the lawnmower was preparing to mow the grass on the south side of the building when the engine caught fire. Smoke could be seen from across town, which burned a dark black color. Thankfully, the gas tank on the machine was small enough with proper ventilation that it didn’t explode. Witnesses told the MLN that the only ‘explosions’ were that of the tires as they caught fire.

There were no injuries sustained from the incident and the lawnmower was deemed a total loss.
