Mesquite Elks Lodge 2811 held its annual Soccer Shoot on Saturday morning, Nov. 5, at the Mesquite Recreation Department soccer fields. Boys and girls of all ages competed in four age groups, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11 and 12-13 year old.
The local youth were given nine shots at goal with scores dependent on hitting different areas and heights of a standard net. Younger kids shot into especially constructed nets of various sizes. The Elks provided a registration table with individual Elks explaining rules, shagging balls and giving encouragement. The event was held in conjunction and shared space with the Mesquite youth soccer games. Nevada State Elks Association President Bill Wiseman assisted and enjoyed seeing Mesquite youth competing. The winners received new Elks soccer balls.

8-9 year old girls- Kenzin Horrer boys- Eli Syndergard
10-11 year old girls- Camila Palacios boys- Trey Sandoval
12-13 year old girls- Shyann Pierce boys- Edger Perez
