It was the “Year of the Dawg” as the Virgin Valley High School football team placed 13 players on the 3A Sunrise Conference offensive and defensive all-league teams. Running back Jayden Perkins was rewarded for his 276 carries for 1,369 yards being named the conference’s Most Valuable Player. Teammate Chase Henderson garnered the Lineman of the Year award and Coach Yori Ludvigson made it a clean sweep as Coach of the Year.

Making the first team were Jesus Ruvalcaba at fullback, Reid Jensen at tight end, Jayden Dalton at offensive tackle, Dayden Payne and Cresent Crandall at offensive guards and Layton Woods at center. Return specialist Jarrett Tietjen and kicker Cesar Zarate rounded out the offensive side of the ball.

Bulldogs making the all-league defense were Timmy Moeai at guard, Trevon Hollingshead at linebacker and Zarate at cornerback. Hogan Fowles was named offensive team ‘Athlete’. Four Bulldogs made all-league second team with Brayton Hampsten at wide receiver, Tauaimalo Fiso at offensive tackle and Adrian Macias and Andrew Memmott as safeties. Also Cade Anderson was named honorable mention as quarterback.
