Police Blotter Aug. 7-13, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 144 total incidents in the blotter:

August 7:
Theft from Vehicle: Officer responded to the police department lobby on a report of theft from a vehicle. Officer met with the victim and obtained the needed information and a report was generated.
Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officer responded to the parking lot of the Virgin River Casino on a report of a two car collision. Officer obtained all information and a report was taken.
Intoxicated Person: Officers observed an intoxicated male walking down W. Hafen Ln. Officers identified and arrested the male for Intoxicated Pedestrian in the roadway.

August 8:
Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration. The driver also did not have proof of insurance. The driver had a history of failure to appear and was taken into custody.
Civil Matter: Officers responded to a civil issue in the lobby of the police station.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a damaged property complaint on River’s Bend Dr.
Wanted person: A female was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant.

August 9:
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to a local casino reference a party and property damage. A female was issued a citation for property damage and released with a court date.
Stolen Vehicle: An officer responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino parking lot in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. Officer took a report of a stolen truck, trailer and three motorcycles.
Theft: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino on a report of a theft.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Officers responded to the lobby for a report of property damage in a local neighborhood.
Theft: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. Casino parking lot for a report of a theft from a vehicle. Information and evidence was collected and a report completed.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business regarding a trespass.  Officers spoke to management who read the trespass warning to an adult male who had been sleeping on the side of the business.
Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to an E. Old Mill Dr. apartment complex on a report of disorderly conduct. One adult male was arrested for simple domestic battery.
Wanted person: A female was taken into custody for an active arrest warrant.

August 10:
Person on Foot: Officer made contact with an adult female with an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The warrant was confirmed and the female was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center without incident.
Threatening: Officer responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business for a threat report. A report was taken.
Fraud: Officer responded to a Canal St. business reference fraudulent activity. Officer gathered information and a report was taken.
Parking problem: Officer impounded an abandoned vehicle on E. First North and Willow St. after placing a 24 parking violation sticker on the vehicle.
Trespassing IP: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. bank reference a violation of trespass. Subject was taken into custody, without incident, for the trespass violation.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: An envelope with an incident number written on it was dropped off at the police station. Inside the envelope, officers located a small amount of money. The money was attached to an incident report and booked into the vault.
Controlled Substance Problem: Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon further investigation, the adult male driver was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was issued a citation for a traffic violation and drug paraphernalia.

August 11:
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer responded to a Concord Dr. residence reference theft from a vehicle. Information was gathered and a report was taken.
Fraud: Officer responded to a report of identity theft. Officer took the report and assisted the citizen in completing the paperwork.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. store for an accident without injuries.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a N. Sandhill Blvd. car wash, in reference to a vehicle bumping into the carwash equipment.  There was no visible damage done to the vehicle or the car wash equipment.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a registration violation. Upon further investigation, the adult female driver was arrested for the traffic violation and possession of drug paraphernalia. The adult male passenger was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer located an adult male who had been involved in an earlier incident near the library.  After speaking with the adult male, he was placed in custody for possession of methamphetamine.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to a residence on a report of property damage to vehicle tires. Two vehicle tires had been slashed with a sharp object. The investigation is ongoing.

August 12:
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. intersection reference a traffic accident. Information was gathered and a report was taken.
Fraud: Officers were dispatched to a Paradise Pkwy. hotel in reference to a keep the peace call.  After an investigation, an adult male subject was taken into custody for defrauding a proprietor (felony).
Controlled Substance Problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Hawk and Eagle St. on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation. Upon contact with the driver, the officer observed an open container of alcohol and signs of illegal drugs. The driver was issued citations for the traffic violation, the open container of alcohol and for possession of marijuana under one ounce.

August 13:
Person On Foot: Officers observed an intoxicated adult male jaywalking.  The male was cited and released.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Police took a report for property damage to a vehicle.
Theft: Officer responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. business for a report of theft that had occurred earlier. After taking the report the officer located the suspect who admitted to the crime and was issued a citation with a court date.
Driving under the Influence: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a moving violation.  The adult male driver was arrested for DUI-alcohol (1st).
Traffic Stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop on Sun Valley Dr. on a vehicle for a traffic offense. After an investigation, the driver of the vehicle, an adult male subject, was taken into custody for prohibited person in possession of firearms, possession of drug paraphernalia, and traffic offenses.  A passenger in the vehicle, also an adult male subject, was also taken into custody for prohibited person in possession of firearms.  Another passenger in the vehicle, a female juvenile, was released to her guardian without charges.
