Police Blotter July 10-16, 2016
Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 140 total incidents in the blotter:

July 10:

Stolen Vehicle: Officers responded to a Colleen Ct. address for a report of a stolen golf cart. Officers checked the area and could not locate the vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
Verbal Dispute IP:  Officer responded to a report of a group of males being disorderly with security at a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino. Four males were trespassed, and one was cited and released for breach of peace.
Civil Dispute:  Officers responded to a report of a dispute in progress between a boyfriend and girlfriend on Second South St. There was no evidence of a physical confrontation, and the parties were separated. Written statements were gathered from each party.
Theft from Vehicle:
Officers responded to a theft at a W. Hafen Ln. casino parking lot.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino regarding a trespass.  Upon arrival officers were advised the subject also had an active warrant for his arrest.
Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Hillside Dr. with negative injuries with moderate damage. Driver’s information was exchanged and both parties left the scene.
Theft: Officers responded to a retail theft at a W. Pioneer Blvd. retail store. A written statement was gathered, video surveillance collected, and the investigation is ongoing.

July 11:
Fraud: An Officer took a report of fraud concerning the payment of his rent. A report was taken and forwarded to the Investigative Services Division.
Citizen Assist: An officer responded to a civil matter.
Phone Harassment: Officer responded to the Mesquite Police Department to speak with a resident who wanted to report harassment.  Officer spoke with both parties and the incident was documented.
Fraud: An Officer took a report of fraud, concerning the loss of security deposit on the residence she rents. Report sent to Investigative Services division for follow up.
Welfare Check: Officers responded to a Kitty Hawk apartment complex on a welfare check.
Theft: An officer took a report of a theft from a Riverside Dr. Storage unit that had been left open.
Burglary: Officers responded to a burglary report at a Sagebrush St. residence.
July 12:

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a hit and run accident in a private parking lot.
Theft from vehicle: Officer responded to a Falcon Ridge Pkwy.  business parking lot on a report of a theft from a vehicle.
Suspicious person: Officers responded to investigate a suspicious circumstance that took place on Hawk St. over the weekend.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud.  Officer spoke to the victim and obtained all information available and will forward the case to detectives.
Phone Harassment: Officers responded to a harassment call at a local residence.
Fraud: An Officer took a telephone report, concerning fraud of a rental home. The incident is under investigation.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: Officer received a report of a possible accident that had not been reported to emergency services.  Officer began an investigation and the matter is being looked into.
Theft: Officers responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. grocery store on a theft.
Suspicious Person/Circumstance: RP called to report a burglary at her Sagebrush St. residence. Upon completing the investigation, Detective could not find any substantial evidence a burglary occurred.
Mental Person: Officers responded to a Sage Way residence on a report of a burglary in progress. It was determined the complainant was having mental issues, and the person in her residence was her roommate.

July 13:

Stolen Vehicle: Officer responded to a stolen ATV report. The vehicle had been removed from the closed garage on Foxglove Ln. A report was taken.
Fraud:  Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud.  Officer spoke with the victim and obtained all information available. Case is ongoing and will be forward to the detective bureau.
Domestic Violence IP:  Officers responded to a Mesquite Springs Dr. residence for a report of a domestic dispute between a mother and daughter. After interviewing all parties, it was determined the juvenile daughter was the aggressor. The daughter was issued a citation and released to her father.
Fraud:
Officers responded to a N. Sandhill Blvd. store in reference two suspicious adults requesting to cash checks made to other people.  Upon locating and speaking with one adult male and female; the female was arrested for obstruction, burglary, drug paraphernalia and multiple forgery crimes.  The male attempted to flee, but was arrested for obstruction, resisting arrest, and conspiracy to commit forgery crimes.
July 14:

Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud.  Officer spoke with the victim and obtained all information available. Case is ongoing and will be forward to the detective bureau.

Traffic Accident w/ Damage: An Officer responded on a traffic collision on W. Mesquite Blvd. and a report was taken.
Mental Person: Officers responded to a Desert Willow Ln. residence reference an individual with mental health concerns. The female voluntarily went to the hospital for evaluation.
July 15:

Stolen Vehicle: An Officer responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on E. Pioneer Blvd.  After an investigation, the vehicle was determined stolen.  A report was taken.
Stolen Vehicle: Mesquite Officer responded to a Pulsipher Ln. residence reference a stolen vehicle. Information was gathered and the case is ongoing.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: Mesquite Officer responded to a S Arrowhead Ln. business reference property damage.
Verbal Dispute IP: Officers arrived on a reported verbal domestic in an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino parking lot. No physical violence occurred. Parties were separated.
Fraud: Officer responded to the police department regarding a report of fraud.  Officer spoke with the victim and obtained all information available. Case is ongoing and will be forward to the detective bureau.
Fraud: An officer responded to N. Sandhill Blvd. restaurant reference possible counterfeit money. After an investigation, the money was determined to be counterfeit and was seized for evidence.
Minor Gambling:  An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of minor gambling. Two subjects under the age of 21 were issued citations for minor gambling.
Traffic Violation: Officers conducted a traffic stop on E. Old Mill Rd. and both occupants were arrested for open containers and other traffic offenses.
July 16:

Domestic Violence IP: Officers responded to a domestic battery on Hagens Alley.  Upon arrival Officers located an adult male with minor injuries and the adult female had fled the scene before police arrival.  Officers located the female, who was arrested for domestic battery.
Suicidal Person: Officers were dispatched to a Sandbar St. residence in reference to a suicidal subject.
Hit & Run: Officers responded to the police station for a report of a hit and run that had occurred earlier in the day on private property. There was no offender information available.
Trespassing IP: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of a trespass violation. One individual was arrested for trespassing and obstructing a public officer.
Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An Officer documented graffiti at Hafen Trailhead Park.
Theft: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for a report of defrauding an innkeeper. A report was taken.
Missing Person: An Officer took a missing person report.
Citizen Assist: Mesquite Officer responded to a Hermosa Way residence reference a citizen assist.
Graffiti: Mesquite Officer responded to a Condor St. neighborhood reference graffiti.  Information was gathered and the case was ongoing.
Lost Property: An Officer took a lost property report.
Animal Bite: An officer responded to the hospital for a report of a dog bite on a thirteen year old girl. The dog was a family pet that had a history of biting people. Animal control took custody of the dog and will complete the investigation.
Welfare Check: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. address, in reference to a stolen vehicle.
Hit & Run: An officer responded for a report of a hit and run accident on Second South St. with no offender information. The officer interviewed several witnesses and the victim but was unable to gather any leads. There were no reported injuries and the damage was minor.
Driving Under the influence: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. apartment complex for a report of a suspicious male who had been observed with a rifle. When Officers attempted to contact the male he fled. Officers were able to take the male into custody on felony charges.
